Over the years on this site, a number of posts have said that NAPA Parts Stores have or can get parts for various outboard motors. Might well be a parts source worth checking out.

Also made two stroke Lawn Boy mowers

My dad wore out a couple of 15hp motors

Have one that works great that's white on the outside and blue on the inside

Thinking they were 87 and 89 models

Personally I've had a '74 6hp, '75 25hp, '81 200hp, '84 140hp, '87 90hp, and the two 15s now morphed into one

All were fine motors too.

Well, I've owned 3 Johnston outboards, all 10 hp or less. All good 2 strokes. One, a 4 hp Johnston I bought just 2 weeks before OMC crashed. They gave me a hell of a deal. I was lucky, because it was the best OB I ever had and I still have it. I would guess it will now become a museum piece.

I haven't heard a reason/rational for BRP giving up on their motors. Does anybody know the rational: losing money, tightening emission standards, or ?. European mfgs, such as KTM are cleaning up their 2 strokes instead of shifting to all 4 strokes. And Bombadeer does sell 2 stroke snow mobiles.

Not done. In talking with an Evinrude dealer he said "they are re-tooling their outboards". Sounds like they are going to have a powerhead mounted on the transom with a tube that goes down to a jet-like intake. No lower unit??? Only time will tell. Sounds like the boats will have to be specific built for this new engine. will be interesting.

I think that what they are "retooling for" is an inboard rather than an outboard, and will have to be designed for a dedicated boat. I think that they want to sell complete boats and are abandoning the repower market.
