We have finally purchased a 2004 Cdory 25. I'm in the process of getting boat fitted out for us. While under boat on a creeper I noticed a vented thru hull fitting on the starboard side of keel approximately midship. Does anyone know what this is? I really don't care much for holes in the bottom of a boat. From all I know of boats their primary purpose is to keep the water on the outside. Kind of like the fan blade on the front an airplane is there to keep the pilot cool. Because if it stops you'll see him sweat. |

Probably a wash down pick up. Is there a hose bib in the cockpit? _________________ tight lines |

That's what I was thinking but I don't see one. There is a ball valve under the step as walk in door |

That could be the inlet for the head. It is on Journey On, a 2005.

Journey On after looking at it further I believe you are right. My project for today is to swap toilet to an airhead. So I probably will use that for raw water wash down. Thanks guys |

Salty Peach,
As to the Air Head, it is absolutely wonderful. I have one in my boat and to date, there has been zero odor, or maintenance issues. I know this is not the topic, but when you "head" down that path, feel free to ask questions. _________________ Steve Baum

When you change over to the air head, put a tee in the thru hull and cap off one end. That way you have a spare supply of water from the thru hull. I used bronze rather than PVC, schedule 80.
I use a tee to supply both the head and the washdown. They don't interfere with each other.
