Hi, if anyone is familiar with the forward plug that I think is limited to older boats I'd be grateful for any insight. My boat is a 1987 22' Cruiser. There is water incursion during rain and while I've found a couple small leaks there are still more significant sources. One seems to be the plug right at the threshold to the v berth. It seems that it's most likely a drain for anchor locker water but I don't use the locker. Water still finds its way in. Any ideas where I could be taking in rainwater into that cavity? And how in the heck do you post photo?? What do you do with the "Img" button?

Rainwater is usually from hull to deck joint/rub rail. The anchor locker should be (may not be) sealed off, and have an overboard drain up forward. There can be water intrusion from the brass stream strip--one of the screws is loose etc. If there is a drain there, someone has had a water issue in this area previously.

Thank you. There is a small drain hole in the after part of the anchor locker. I've checked the steam strip. So I guess that leaves the either the rub rail or deck/hull fitting. There is just no obvious source. Take off the rub rail and caulk underneath thoroughly? Would water be getting in the wooden core from the rub rail or fitting and finding its way out somehow?

The sides of the boat are solid, only the bottom is cored. Is there any possibility that any deck fittings, cleats, pulpit etc are leaking?
