Anybody know where these can be obatined? Right now, I am one cap down, and I can see the others could easily be lost as well! I would like to have a few on hand! Thanks!

Pat, if those are the same as Bearing Buddy hubs, I have found them at West Marine, Napa, and O'Riellys. I keep a pair of spares as they do tend to "evaporate" at times.

Auto parts stores, Marine supply, or trailer places usually stock the ones that slide on over the hub. The hubs on my trailer have the zerk that goes through into the inner bearing. This uses a rubber insert that goes inside the hub. These are harder to find. I lost 1 a couple of years ago and couldn't find them so I bought a cheap set of bearing buddies. Discarded the spring & grease fitting - just used the stainless hub part. Hammered it into my hub and now use the external caps. If its a hot day go around and push the center in to release air. Otherwise I think when heat builds up that can be what blows them off.

No, these are the small round rubber pieces that fit inside the hole over the zerks, maybe 1-1/2" in diameter, I think the correct name of the hub is EZ Lube.

Pat, the ez lube hubs you have sound the same as mine. I would have preferred to find the proper caps and am still on the lookout for them. If in a pinch though you can remedy as I did(above post). My original zerk that goes to inner bearing is still there - just an alternate method of sealing it.

Hi Pat;
Are these the ones?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000C6HNC/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I lost 2 of these on my Tie Down Engineering hubs and ordered these from Amazon. Still can't really understand why all of a suddenly two would decide to come off. Possibly heat? Age?

Timely post Pat.

Yesterday I put the disk brake hubs on Tinker Toy.When I removed the outer hub cover (plastic) expecting to see the rubber covers over the zerk, I was surprised that there weren't any on either side.

Now I have links for replacements!

Thanks

Pat, I just replaced the hubs on my new 25 with oil bath hubs. Went out to find them, and forgot I threw them away. Fortunately, my garage garbage can only gets emptied every few months. I just pulled the 4 out of the garbage! The rubber inserts appear to measure out to 1 5/8". If these are the right ones, you can have them for the cost of postage. (Sent to me, or just put in the C-Brat jar for the sysops running this site.) Just pm me your address if you want them. I can send you the entire cap and rubber, or just the rubbers. I may or may not get around to cleaning them off better. Mr. Green (Most the grease I wiped out. However, now they are "greasy" and "garbage dirty". ) Colby (Late note. Just linked to James post above to etrailer. These appear to be exactly the same as what I have. At least the initials on the plug are the same...)
