It is cold, and we've had some 20 f. days, and the water is down to probably 40 or less...
So, all is working fine on Sally's Sister, except my hydraulic tabs..Bennett...don't seem to be fully coming up..at least that is what the lights on the dash are saying..i can't get the final red light off...any tips as to what is going on?

Tom, I had the same problem with the blinking 12:00 on my VCR Cry that wouldn't go away. My 8 year grandaughter fixed it with a 1" piece of black plastic tape. Now I can't see it anymore... Shocked

Try it. May not fix the problem but it won't bother you anymore, at least until the tape falls off... Smile

Merry Christmas...

Charlie

My first thought would be temperature associated.
The hydraulic oil is too cold. You could put a heat lamp near the unit on the inside of the transom and find out.

If the tabs cylinders are fully retracting and the tabs are coming all the way up, it may be as simple as recalibrating the position indicator. On the second or third page of Bennett's installation instructions (online here) the procedure is spelled out. Sounds pretty easy to do.

If the tabs are not coming all the way up, then you have serious problems and should probably buy a new boat. (Now that's funny right there!) The Bennett system, as I recall, uses springs in the actuator to retract and hydraulic pressure to extend. When you push the buttons to retract, the pump runs (backward, I guess) and the valves open, but there is no pressure developed. Any of several things could cause the tabs not to come up.

First thing is to look at the tabs and actuators themselves and see if they are coming up at all. Then report back here. Then bring the boat out to Oregon. I really miss fishing out of the CD22.

I love you guys...

Anyway, when i look at the tabs, they seem to be in the full up position as i see them..but the final red lighs for both port and starboard stay lit...as if the tabs are on click down. They don't look down at all.
Maybe just cold weather related.. The indicator worked fine until we hit reall cold weather...I used the boat two days ago and used the tabs and all seemed fine.
