It is a small world, I imagine the odds of running into C-D folks decreases all the time.
We're not living there as there is no work, come retirement time, we'll probably end up living up the valley towards Sumpter. It'd beautiful country around there but a person can't eat scenery...damn wintry too.
Spring time and the meadow maggots, what a blast, a person can melt down a gun barrel just on the old road between North Powder and Union (Sis used to teach at North Powder). I got chewed out once for standing on the road and shooting into a ranchers field. We where plinking away and along came a ranch truck. The guy pulled up and barked at us for not getting out in the fields and seriously hunting the varmits
I could babble on for pages about Baker valley, I best shut up now _________________ Ken

Some spectacular scenery is right....but I'm not much of a tumbleweed/sagebrush/rattle snake counter...thinkin that'd wear out pretty quickly for entertainment

I think there are probably quite a few folks on here that would enjoy living over there if one could actually make a living. I hunted elk up marble creek several years and just loved it. Nothing like getting to the top of the ridges and looking down on the valley or over to granite and sumpter. |

I need to get back up to the ranch and pick off a few more rabbits before season ends. I hope the pigs start coming around soon, need some more sausage.
We were at the ranch a few weeks ago and saw a roadrunner take off in front of us. He stopped by some brush and all I could see was tail feathers--- oh well, lets see...... follow them down ......now over and up and.......squeeze the trigger. Gotcha--- took the top of the head off.
Yep, about time fer some varmits. _________________ Roger

Reachin for a towel to wipe away the drool Wow, what a great offer...thank you. Loooooong ways, but sure sounds like fun
I'm thinkin we musta drank some of the same water Byrdman got 'hold of at the SBS/CBC -- we had the flu all last week, and Steve missed work -- today was the first day we ventured out of the house other than going to the doc's office last Monday. Baaaaad stuff! |
