Fiberglass repair should be done by Friday, then bottom paint possibly this weekend. After that, I need to polish and wax her and launch her. Hopefully by the 4th! |
If you are going to bottom paint, Where are you going to have the waterline be? Right now the boat is as light as it will probably ever be, thus the waterline will be as low as it might ever be. If they are going to float it for the level, consider adding a couple of inches to take care of the added weight that your boat will gain as you start to do things like fill fuel and water tanks, add stores and equipment for your use, fishing or cruising.

Based on the photos of my boat in the water, under our loading conditions, the factory waterline seems to be pretty accurate. |

Harvey, that's a good point and thanks for mentioning it. I was just going to have them add another cost to the paint that's already there. It looks like it's the factory height.
SSOBOL, how loaded up are you? There's just 2 of us and a 60lb dog, 12 gallon tanks, and I doubt we'll be doing anything more that weekend trips. |

It was two of us and full fuel (46 gal) plus stuff for 4-5 days.
You might want to check the lateral load though. Some boats sit lower on one side than the other. |

Very exciting day...Curious Traveler is launched. We didn't get to go out because the whitecaps were coming off the bay and into our creek. But she's at least in her slip. Pic in my album. |

Boats like many people, gain weight over time. Plan ahead.
This was SleepyC brand new, and the water line fit fine there, a few years back.
And, Enjoy,
Harvey
