As a somewhat local, I will echo the before school being out and after Labor Day as the most ideal times. The summer season is a ZOO to say the least and don't even think about going to Chelan on one of the three summer holidays especially the 4th of July. Keeps law enforcement on land and sea more than busy. The weather from mid July through August can easily be in the upper 90's to 100 and that is our fire season over here, although we have just about consumed all of the standing fuel on the north shore. Even if there is fire along the lake, it is still usable, just not in the immediate vacinity due to aircraft, workboats and the effected campgrounds. Wouldn't have gone into this, but the issue came up year before last on a couple of the posts. The upper lake is the more scenic and remote and the campgrounds are nice like stated earlier.
Still no boat yet , but plan to take delivery 04 of 07 . If the State Park at 25 mile is used for launching and camping, I would be able to come with truck and camper and maybe beg a ride. This is a good place to launch as it puts you about mid-lake.
At any rate, it is a beautiful lake, there are not many go-fast-boats on the lake at the before and after the summer season and it would be a great destination.
Oh yea, for those into wine ILO or in addition to , there are a number of wineries close to the lake.
