Any interest in a Lake Chelan gathering this coming year? Late spring and late summer would be the better times. |

Why yes we would!!! we have been kicking this around for over a year. We took the old boat to chelan a few years ago and cruised the lower lake. We got up as far a 25 mile camp ground, they have their own marine for those camping. We also checked out some of the boat in camps They all have their own dock. With no limit of lake trout and camp grounds with dock we are roaring to go. _________________ Thomas J Elliott

Hey, Guys
For we who drop in on this site several times a day when we're home, and check out most of the new postings out of curiosity, at least, please tell us out-of-towners where some of these local destinations are. A quick map search puts me in Lake Champlain! Give us a nearby town or zip code, please, of these great, interesting places.
Thanks,
Bob Cat |

I've been wanting to get over there for quite awhile. I've been there twice pre-C-Dory but never with the C-Dory. In my mind August (especially early August) would be bad as that's PRIME Neah Bay Salmon time. For me, early to mid-July would be fabulous. However, I'd be willing to come most any time even if Ihave to miss some Neah Bay time. I'd rather go to the North end and stay up near Stehekin. To me, Lake Chelan is one of the most beautiful places in the countrly especially on the North half. Love that place...

Lake Chelan, one of the largest lakes in Washington State is located about 90 miles east of Seattle (as the crow flies) on the eastern and dry side of the state.
Would love to go! Name the time. Robbi _________________ 2023 C-Dory 23 Venture Sport

We have taken our CDory to Chelan 4 times. In the summertime the lake is crowded with jet skiers and go fast boats with skiers. Before the end of school or after Labor Day I have found to be the best times. Back in 2002 we spent two weeks in September on the lake and had a wonderful time with very few other boats.
The lake gets drawn down in the fall and winter months and does not get back to full level untill around Memorial Day. Once you get above 25 mile creek it gets very remote and a lot more interesting.
To search just put in the town of Chelan, Washington. The town of Stehiken is opened year round, it is at the end of the lake.
I have some pictures of our trip and will post them tomorrow. |

Lake Chelan is much less crowded if you go to the north end (above the 30 mile mark or so). The south end is is drier and warmer but is much busier. I've been at Stehekin near the 4th of July and only seen about 300-400 people total in the area.

I would be interested in this trip too. I have been there once with my first boat, and the lake trout fishing was fantastic! Had to go deep on the rigger, but the action was very fast. They also have rainbow's, kokanee, and burbot which I've never fished for but are supposed to be very good. I didn't make it too far uplake, but would sure like to try. I also would prefer early- mid summer, or late spring. August and early september is hard, too may salmon in the area. But it sure sounds like a blast.
