The only downside with so many boats in attendance is getting around to chat with everyone in such a short time.

Martin.

Ranger gatherings blow C-Dory gatherings away. Last year they had 250 boats at the Ranger Rendezvous in Roche Harbor.

Yes, and Ranger Tugs pick up a bunch of the tab for that.

BUT.....
Last year, NMI picked up the tab for our party barge at Friday Harbor CBGT and that was not only the first in a long time, but a serious step in the right direction.

Martin, thanks for the reminder. Pretty sure you are right. Hope to see you at FH-CBGT this year too.

Looking forward to seeing all the friends that we met at the Friday Harbor gathering. It’s going to be a grand event with all the c dorys there. Can’t wait to see Steve and Joanie and their babies and hanging out with Harvey, Elen and our new friend Brock. Preparing our boat for cruising this summer in canada and all the islands. A awesome adventure for 2 folks just new to the cruising world. Blessings to all

Man, I'm liking the FH enthusiasm here. And Ripple, sure good to know you'll have some time to get up here and explore with your beautiful blue 25. I have a feeling we'll have future cruises together with Harvey, and others, after we retire.
One point: I believe Ranger set the record last year with just over 200 boats. I think they hit 203. I've heard there's a few of them in these here parts.

Hi Jeff & Diane,
We're looking forward to seeing you two again as well! We'll have our mutts along, will you be bringing Miley? Is she turning out to be a good sea dog?

So if we are going to have a chance at setting a new record, the planing needs to start soon. I could work like this:

Every CBRAT knows another CBRAT. So all we need to do is be sure we get another CBRAT to come with us to FH-CBGT. It will work like magic, AND we will have a whole bunch of really interesting boaters there, with their "cute" boats.

Harvey - I don't yet see a sign up for this gathering - perhaps Tyboo or Will can get that set up. I'll be there but will have my boat at FH for a week prior and a week after. Many spot prawns must die. Very Happy

Rogerbum, Thanks for the reminder. Pretty sure we don't have a sign-up yet because we don't have a designated host, co-ordinator or leader or guru or chief volunteer for this gig. As you know, the Admin guys don't set that up until we have that person. And that person is routinely the first one to post the CBGT info -- dates, days, times and places. So, like last year, so far, we are going ahead in faith and with the hopes for a good group effort and some volunteers.

I have gone ahead and confirmed dates with Port of FH, so we could maintain the same dates. We srill have some (plenty) of room for some others to step in with some other activities.

Personnally, I would like to see some educational as well as some safety things presented. And, Anyone that wants could do a presentation, and if we have that, all we would need to do is some coordination in times, (so we don't have 4 "classes" that are all scheduled for 3PM.

Here are some of the things that take some co-ordination:

Voluntary Vessel Safety Inspection
Pot luck, Time and set up - Sat PM
Organized Group Dinner - Fri PM
Whale Museum Tour ???
On the Dock breakfast - Sat AM
Mustang Throwstick - demo or contest
Dingy demo's
AIS or DSC class or demo
Water system purity/safety class
Prawning Points
Focused on Bottom Fish Finding
OR ANYTHING ANYONE ELSE WOULD LIKE TO SHARE Idea Question Exclamation

Roger and
Tom

Great to hear you are planning on being there. Always fun to see you both. Stay safe and think about sharing your talents. I know you are both good at what you do (fish and prawn) so enjoy.

I finally got around to making the signup list. It sort of slipped my mind. A lot of things do that lately.

I added an extra link to the Pre Cruise discussion in there, too.
