How about sharp edged seas? You like that better than flat smooth seas? |
How about, for the Dingy, "D-Flat" ( which I think is the same note as C-Sharp?) Just sayin'. _________________ MartyP

Hey Daybreak !
Steve is right, this would be a great activity after the Saturday potluck at FH. I need a re-vote after seeing Harvey's selection of FootC, C-Rambler and C-Scape. What great names! Keith, please consider these names and add them to your list?
I will add them to the list. I'm liking the froup actiity at our Saturday evening gathering. _________________ Keith Foote

Keith, I am looking forward to this activity to help you get a name for your C-Dory. Maybe, in the selection process, the winners of the name can get a prize. How about a bag of Snickers Bars to be shared. That would be a special prize. Can't wait. Gary. |

This will be the first of hopefully many gatherings for my wife Lisa and me with our recently purchased (last year) Wild Blue. This is a 25' cruiser with a 135 Honda. We would plan to arrive Friday morning and depart for Anacortes on Sunday morning.
Please let me know about dock fees, etc.
Thank you,
Tom Wallace |

I have it on good authority that Wild Blue knows its way around Friday Harbor and the San Juans.
The Port of Friday Harbor is showing the dock fee of $1.10 per foot in May and June. In the past, you show up, pick an open slip on the dock where the gathering is happening, then go to the office to register and pay.
Enjoy that great boat! |

Sort of....50 people max last time I read it. But there is no "enforcement" besides each other/society.
To me makes zero sense. 51 is dangerous but 45 is OK? Huh? Illogical. Anyone who has been in a Costco lately knows that all the "rules" are ludicrous and being ignored in the name of panic buying.
Well, Martin...I just checked now it's 10 people.

I do like the idea of tying the dinghy name to the main boat's name. |

But if you have 50 (or 1000) people and they all stay 6 feet apart (i.e. CDC social distancing), is that still a gathering? |

They just announced a closure of the Canadian/US border to non essential traffic.

Tom Wallace, Welcome and sure hope we get to meet at the FH-CBGT in May. Jim is right on his post for the FH fees, BUT, we (C-BRATS) are special, and have always been given a special group rate, SO ......
This year there are several things in play. (The elephant in the room among others.) First, we have a new FH Cruise Group Director -- FH staff -- so some things have changed. Some for the good, we have a party dock, that we have been assured for both Friday and Sat group use, AND some for the less than great. He also wants a list of participants 2 weeks in advance which we will try to comply with. I was also told we would get a discounted group rate, and that we would have the usual "H" dock. Those thing remain to be seen.
Yes, The Canada/USA border has been closed, (effective Mar 18, 2020) to non essential traffic. Initially it was going to be open to US Citizens, but that changed already. Recreational traffic will not be allowed SO . . . . what do we know now ---- NOTHING yet that is affecting the FH-CBGT, however, that is still 2 months away so, plan of coming, and having a great time, BUT, stay tuned, as things can change. My guess for now is that the drop dead date for a go or no go will be close to May 1.
In the mean time, stay healthy, keep in touch, and plan well and have the boat ready.
P.S. : I tried to meet with Ryan from NMI (C-Dory Factory) last Tues, but the office was closed to "visitors". Will try and get a phone meeting this week.
Harvey

Yes, thanks, Harvey. Keith, your last name is Foote? No brainer, dude: Foote Loose.
I plan on occupying a FH slip unless handcuffed at home, and I'm optimistic that the threat of COVID-19 will pass. Hopefully sooner than later. Nonetheless, this is a nasty virus that has killed thousands, hurt many more economically, and profoundly changed people's daily lives. |

A personal comment.
I hope that we are able to have the FH-CBGT.
If it happens, much of the decision will be up to the Port of Friday Harbor.
If it doesn't happen, there will be a fairly large group of very frustrated C-BRATS, and I will be one of them.
Will have to wait and see.
Harvey
