Has anyone have any experience installing a drawer-type refrigerator like the Engel SB30G in their C-Dory?

It's only 30 liters of space, but I think I can mount it low on the forward dinette seat (non-sliding) and still be able to preserve some storage space at the top of the cabinet. Several nice features are that the compressor can be detached and mounted anywhere within 4.5 feet, uses low amps, and with it being a drawer you can easily see and get to items when mounted low.

Any thoughts?

HI Steve, I hope you get some reply on this. I know there are Brats who have put frig/freezer units in various places and have them mounted on pull-out rollers, but can't say I have seen this type used on a C-Dory yet.

Yes, In going through the photo archives, I've also noticed several brats that have installed chest fridges on sliders. I believed this drawer style will make for a very easy installation and not using too much of the storage space. I acknowledge that 30 liters is not a lot of refrigerator room, but together with the "cool storage locker" under the dinette foot space (for us PNW folks), it should be enough for some of us. Its all about compromises...

I would wonder if you have the 28" of depth required in the 22, because of the slope of the sides of the hull? The negative about these type is that when you open them, the "cold all spills out". The top opening chest type tend to be most efficient, but one can argue that it is difficult to find items at the bottom of the chest-and you have to take items out to get to others...

There is going to be a lot of area which has seals on it--and I would wonder how good the insulation is in comparison.
