Nicely done. It gives a 3rd dimension, and makes the "presence" far better. Very professional production.
I agree makes one want a drone--if only I had one...xxxx?
Jody, What to you think about he Mavic Mini: I realize they are't released until next week, no 4 K, auto white balance, and no manual shutter speed. But less than 250 grams, so no registration (?). Sounds like the pocket drone with reasonable features... _________________ Bob Austin

As long as people don't get the idea the just because you don't have to register it, it means that they can fly it wherever/whenever they want. |

I have a mini on order just picked up my second Mavic 2 Pro. I think the Mini will have it’s spot good to learn with. Taking pictures for the internet 1080p is decent. Not having to register and losing some of the flight restriction is very nice. Still the possibility of someone saying you can’t fly here because they don’t know the rules. If One wanted the best photos then I would choose the Mavic 2 Pro easy to pack and carry around. The Mini will hold its own and give decent picture get one on order you’ll have a good time with it. |

Unable to watch this drone video also. It is a "sign in to an account" thing again. Didn't know I needed an account to watch U Tube. Since when?

Hi,
I'm a former C-Dory owner, "Sea Skipper" a 2005 C-Dory 25. I now own a Rosborough which are in many ways similar to the C-dory. I used a drone this last April to film "Alpine Mist" underway on the first cruise of this year. The video was filmed in and just outside Fossil Bay on Sucia Island. Normally this is a very crowded anchorage, but in late April, I was the only boat the 1st night with one other boat pulling into the head of the bay the next morning. The drone camera system has a limit of 5 minutes per clip and as a result, the videos were uploaded to YouTube in four parts. The videos are not a polished as Checkpoint II's which is very nice with beautiful colors, and I need to add music and figure out how to merge them together.
Flying the drone and operating the boat single handed is a bit of a challenge - nearly lost the drone while landing. Conditions were quite calm with wind speeds up to about 6 knots. You can notice strong tidal current, which can run up to 4 knots, near the mouth of the bay. I passed this exact same area six days later on my return to Bellingham with winds blowing 20+ knots out of the NW and 4' seas.
During this filming, boat speed ranged from dead slow to just over 20 knots.
Video Links to YouTube are as follows:

Part 2: https://youtu.be/zn1tl-neqYQ
Part 3: https://youtu.be/UfAsTcIW8p4
Part 4: https://youtu.be/6arWIuQxU3s
Each part is an instant continuation of the previous one.
