Has anyone used the Garelick 71074 stationary kicker bracket for clearance issues with Bennett 120 trim tabs. I have an 8hp Yamaha long shaft mounted on the port side. I know many people use the mini hacker, but I’m just looking at alternatives. Thanks in advance. |

The warning in the instructions would prevent me from using the 71074 bracket. I have used a similar horizontal mount bracket with a 2 stroke 3.5 hp Mercury, weight of 30#.
This (including the cap. letters) is from the installation instructions.

As far as the trim tab, all you have to do is to trim the kicker "up" or if necessary put a wedge under the mount on the transom, to be sure and clear the trim tab.
Another issue, is can you be sure that the non articulating/raise and lower bracket get the lower unit clear of the water/wake off the transom when boat is at various speeds? _________________ Bob Austin

Thanks Bob. I didn’t catch that warning. I think I’ll look into just wedging it up a little before buying the Mini Jacker |

I used the m ini-jacker and put some spacers between it and the transom. I have about 1/2" clearance between my kicker and the trim tab. You can look in my photo album in one of the nested albums regarding my kicker installation. Colby |

Cabelas has the mini jacker for $110 where Bob's is $195 so watch where you buy it. Big price difference. _________________ Jody Kidd
