We have a persistent leak on the starboard berth porthole window. There are no manufacturer markings on these windows. The others are Boman or Diamond Seaglaze.
I think we need to replace the entire gasket rather than clean and reseal which I have done already with no success on slowing the leak. I have no idea where to start other than query the experts— that’s you guys.
Thanks in advance. _________________ Rick and Anita

Well I hope I am not jinxing myself but after scraping and scraping and cleaning old caulking out from around the window from the berth side I reapplied elastomeric caulk from Sudberry 301. I also added some Lifecaulk clear around the outside of the trim. I replaced the old gasket with new and installed also with life caulk clear. We have not had any real big rains but thru a direct hose spray and several little rains no leaks have appeared.
I think I shall forgo ever opening the winDow’s again and pray constantly! |
