Good afternoon. Didn't find this answered with a search.

I know the cockpit sole on the older C-dory's isn't flat. Does this make it difficult to use camp chairs or other types of folding chairs? Or isn't it really noticeable?

Thanks.

We always had some "cover" over the floor--such as "Dri Deck" or some high density industrial foam pads. No problems with folding chairs--just have to have them oriented correctly--similar to slightly un even ground.

Bean bag chairs will solve that problem.

I totally agree. Bean bag chairs are great. Speaking of them...has anyone tried them on the foredeck? Is there enough room up there? One of my wife's problems with the boat is she doesn't have any room to recline up there.

Bean bag chairs are very popular on center consoles, where they can be put on top of a "T" top, They are also good in rough weather.

In a C Dory 22, I suppose you can put them on top of the cabin (If you don't have dinghy etc up there already). But considering the amount of room they take up in the cockpit--not my choice. The folding chairs fit nicely on the aft cabin bulkhead. We have footman loops, with 2" wide velcro straps, to hold our two folding chairs well out of the way.

SleepyC has the older, curved cockpit sole. NO problem to use chairs there. I have tried several types. Mostly single handing, I usually just sit on a fender when at anchor, but I carry a chair in case I have company.

Bean bag chairs. Not here, unless you have some way to make them waterproof. I agree, too bulky.
