I pulled the trigger and ordered the sliding door window with the screen. If anyone is interested you should get a little discount by mentioning my order number and name.

Order # 20335
Brandon Snider

Eddie Weber is the contact at Advantec in Canada. Spoke to him this am, very nice guy. His office number is 1-604-607-0091 ext 3926. His email is eddie.weber@advantecglobal.com

It was just under $1,000, he did mention price has gone up since my quote last year, but discounted the current price. Hopefully he'll do the same for you. He has all of the measurements from my boat. The window I ordered was D15HD 17.25 W x 25.23 H with 3" radius corners in white gloss. The door is ¾" thick.

Thanks,

congrats on a good decision to order a screen for the door. I'm sure your cabin will be better off for it.

I went through the same process with Diamond Glaze, the manufactures of the glass for my 2006 CD22. They quoted $785 US$ (not including shipping). Can't believe that a 16"X24" window costs that much...

Waaaaaaaaay outa my budget. I'm going to install a SS 5X16 inch louvered vent and add screen to it and hope for the best.

Good luck with your project.

I looked up old posts. Six of us ordered the door window/screen for $292 apiece shipped. The CDory factory called Diamond Sea Glaze and asked them to give us a break. The original quote was $360 or so plus shipping, crating, and export fees which brought it up to $550. Might want to call the factory as well as get a group buy. DSG really worked with us.

Good luck.

$1000. Holy Crap!

Might be a good topic to bring up at the Factory Tour with the Bellingham CBGT coming up mid August.

I was one of the six, John, and in retrospect the deal we got was great. I still appreciate your orchestration of the purchase and we are still enjoying the benefits of a screened window in the door.

Al, Sounds like you like it. Guessing you would do it again. Anything you would do different?

No, not really; it was a straightforward installation. Admittedly the screened part of the window is only half the height, but it’s a perfect exhaust port for intake air coming in the v-berth hatch. We’ve even positioned an Endless Breeze fan over the opening to force a draft while frying fish on the Wallas. Also, if you want to adjust the size of the screened opening, a small suction up on the fixed glass portion is just the ticket.

As for what to do with the old window, I gave ours to our island owner friend on NW Lake Superior where it now provides a panoramic view from his outhouse door! LOL

I enjoyed doing it. I just can not believe that the price has gone up sooooo much. I do the same thing with the 12v Endless Breeze fan. Creates a nice draft. As we speak, I am installing two port holes in the berth area to help with airflow. I hauled Swee Pea back from NC to Virginia with the plan to buff her up and get her shiny as new. Found a boat restoration shop 3 miles away who gave me a price that I could not refuse to compound, polish, and wax and install the port holes. They are doing a fantastic job and she is glistening again. Can't wait to get her back. Just had the Honda serviced at Mobile East Marine in addition to a replacement of the Guest charger.

Sorry to hijack this thread. I don't get on the site often enough and miss you guys. I'll put a sock in it.

I noted that the magnetic screens which can be easily velcroed or snapped to the sides of the cabin door are only about $14 at our local CVS drug store. Sounds like a better and cheaper solution for ventilation...Especially with the window costing $1000!
