Buy your stuff at a plumbing supply store. We just bought a bathroom sink for the old house at a plumbing supply store and it was less money and nicer than HD stuff.

I hear ya.

These are ceramic sinks

One had a chip and one had a black spot under the glazing

I really hate having to rehab this house

Guess we've been here 26 years now

Would be so easy to just sell and buy another

But I'm trying so hard

To keep our taxes as low as possible

So rehab it is.

Need to just get this boat and leave her with whatever money it takes to pay someone else to come do it

And it's so ridiculously expensive to have it done too

I hear ya Harvey

I can see where 30 more horses on a flat bottomed C-Dory

would make all the difference in the world.

We have big rollers that come into Ponce Inlet here

Due to the channeling of water from the jetty

Twin 40's make 80, that's 30 more than your 50 Honda.

Now I'm up to speed

Problem was I was talking about me switching from a 50 hp dirt bike to

70 hp on a 22 foot boat and the excitement factor Very Happy

Oh, and I commented on one of your pics

It was taken at the ramp

Was wondering if that's as far in as you need to back your trailer

Dreams: Mine are usually entertaining.

I can usually figure out why or what I'm thinking about.

Call from Brian yesterday must have made me think of this pic of us
pulling trailers behind our gold wings.

Then there was a pic posted on Facebook of friends at a motorcycle rally
with their jack-russell terrier on the bike with them and
it reminded me of mine from years ago riding too.

Then the red gold wing I was riding in my dream was my dad's.

Now God only knows why Elvis was riding on the trailer with us
post earthquake disaster.

What a trek it was too. When the paved roads became clogged
we took to the woods.

Unbelievable what traction we had with only one drive wheel. Very Happy

Boat hp rating vs what you put on it

Two of the most fun boats I've had

8 foot Fliver with a 25, boat would fill up with water and when you nailed the throttle it would run out the back

15 footer with a 140, that was rated for a 70

1976 Bonita, the helm sat forward a bit more than an actual speed boat
and it was way good for skiing

Like talking about outboards

Was considering getting a larger motor for my little 17 dory

It has a 30 hp three cylinder Yamaha two-stroke

Thought about a 50 Yamaha but they're way too heavy

Guess 40 would be the one but even it weighs 100 pounds more

It's just that the old two-smoker is so loud compared to these new ones

And then went from there to buying a C-dory

But we really like that little skiff too

Speaking of that old '89 231 Mako

I re-powered it in 2000 while working in Key West

Anyway, so I'm in New Orleans for a friend's St. Pat's Party

He's showing me pics of his vaca on Big Pine

Say to him, "that's my house right there"

He says, "I told Danny, Alan's got those exact same boats"

Danny Brown

Retired Ocean City, Maryland cop

First time I met him in NOLA for that same party years prior

He drove me back to my hotel

Limos were blocking the drive

He whipped the old borrowed mufflerless rust-bucket of a Chevy Blazer
right up on the sidewalk like he owned the place at 3:00 in the morning

And let mo out between the limos and the front door

That's what I figured

Now, does your new lowered trailer have a sunken type frame?

How is it lower?

I've got a tilt trailer for my 17 cat. It sits up way too high.

The trailer is a Pacific, Galvanized tandem.

I replaced the risers under the bunks with new, 3 inch shorter ones from the Pacific Trailer factory in California. Pulled the bunks off, and replaced them onto the shorter risers.

The 3 inches allows the boat to float off when the water is just at the top of the fenders, and the truck tires are at the edge of the water.

OK, simple enough. Trailer was probably originally designed for something with a deeper V in the stern

You are really good at posting visuals I am not, but google one of the several photographs of C-dorys jumping a big wave and getting air, that looks pretty exciting even for a dirt bike rider, maybe leave the wife home on that one though.....
