I saw this while browsing local Craigslist ads. I don't have any association or know anything about the boat except the ad, but wanted to post it here in case anybody was interested. You don't see these very often.

OK, who's up for a real project! Take that blown diesel inboard and Volvo outdrive out and add an outboard bracket and a 200-250 hp modern 4-stroke and you're half way home. Then you'd have to modernize the electronics and refurbish all the interior and systems.

The $8000 base price looks like a steal, but the price for the new motor, bracket, and update on everything (including refurbishing the trailer) would add $30k-$40k or so, as a rough guess, not counting your labor of love! Laughing

Get your pencil sharpened and give it a run, if even just for the fun of it!

Although "Great Republic" was a C Dory 26, similar story. I think one of these would be a great boat to add 3 to 4 feet to the pilot house, add in a nice size head and shower, put the bracket on, and have a really great boat. (assuming the hull bottom is in good shape.

$5K vs $8K--not much considering what will be required to bring the boat up to snuff. I agree with Joe--could be easy to spend 30 to 40K...

I hope some C Brat would go for it. I would if I was younger.

When I was younger I had more than enough energy to take on these projects — but no time! Now, I have more time but not enough energy!
Funny how that works.

Right now I am putting a new transom on my 1981 classic
(10th C Dory ever made-Will post pics soon) That is as big a project I can handle. Fun but tiring!

I have a 2005 26' ProAngler. Just had the transom replaced and some other more minor work for $20k here in Anchorage.
I have it back here at the beach but have not splashed it yet.
$75 per launch so want to make sure all is well.
Back in 1983 I was at the CD factory in Kent picking up my new 1983 22' Angler. While there I was talking with the owner of CD and designer of the 27' model. He said it was "OK" but not his best work.
FYI there are several 27's in Homer area, one is a bow picker model.
