This sounds like a nice rig. You should post pics if possible. Are you on BoatTrader or Yacht World?

Good luck

Thomas:

Thank you for the nice comments about our Tom Cat. We have thoroughly enjoyed owning the boat plus mixing it up with other C Dory owners over the past 9 years, and so it took us some time about deciding to sell.

But since initially buying the TC, our grandchildren have grown both in size and number, and fortunately for us, like to go boating. Our friends have also gotten older, and less inclined to use the small head in the TC. This kind of thing led us to decide we needed something slightly larger.

We have purchased a 32 ft. Aspen C100 to replace the 25.5 ft TC. After being displacement hull owners (Nordhavn 46) for years, we wanted to stay with the faster speeds catamarans provide.

The Aspen is single engine diesel powered, and the hulls are of different sizes. It has some well thought out engineering to make it work with just one engine. It is trailerable like the TC but requires Wide Load signage. Speeds are about 3 - 4 knots slower than the TC, but fuel burn is also 1/3 less. Interior finish is nicer than the TC, and the head is quite a bit larger than in the TC.

Perhaps will make some post on the CDory site about how our experience with the Aspen compares to the TC.

Thanks again for the comment.

Kevin W.

Kevin, Glad to hear you are staying with boating, and with a cat. Those are seriously interesting boats. I would love to hear how you are enjoying it. Hey, you could come to a CBGT and show it off. Hope to see you still hanging on around here.

Hi Kevin,
Is your TC still available? While I am very interested in the Aspen Cat also, it just isn't in our current budget. Please contact me at selahway@gmail.com with photos or call at 541-231-1970 to discuss. I'm in Vancouver, WA and a cash buyer, ready to purchase after June 15, 2019. Thanks!

Joe

Regrets. First caller bought it for asking price, plus 2 backup offers.

We are new to the forum as we do not currently own a c-dory yet. We signed up because we are very interested in the C Dory Tom Cat model. Our last 3 boats and our current boat have been Boston Whalers. We have come to the point that we no longer want to be out in the open cockpit of the center console type boats and we want something we can stay on for extended trips up in the sound area. Anyway what I was hoping for is some advice from those that have owned the Tom Cat as to its seaworthiness, ride and anything you can tell me about them. We have a trip planned in a few weeks to go see one at the factory that is being completed.
We would greatly appreciate any advice
Thanks Rick and Kerry Anderson

PM sent. A search on the Tom Cat--will bring up a number of the threads. You may want to start your own thread, since buried in a sold boat, may not bring as many responses.
