We will provide juice, donuts/pastries, cups and napkins for Saturday morning. What time Saturday morning do you want to meet for this and how many donuts/pastries should we buy? Do we need to coordinate with the Marina in the use of space at the end of the dock and will there be a table already in place? Any advice would be appreciated. Gary and Colleen. |

Gary and Colleen, Thank for taking on that Sat AM breakfast. I like to eat early so 0530 would work but most folks will probably be happy with 0730 +/- I think that to about 0830 would cover most.
I will confirm with the Port, but I believe we have the "party dock" available for anytime over the weekend, and I'd be surprised if at least for Saturday. I will find out and post the party dock times here as soon as I get that info.
As to the numbers, I think we may need to wait until a couple weeks out for a closer count on the boat numbers. You can generally count on each vessel having a crew of 2, with a few that have more and few that have singlehanders there. There is a sign-up sheet going now with 25 vessels signed up.

Looking forward to returning to the Friday Harbor Gathering. Will be landlubbers again, leaving our little 16ft. Angler at home. Puget Sound is big water to us still!

Things are coming together for the Saturday morning (7am to 9am) breakfast meeting at the end of 'Breakwater A'/end of H-Dock. Harvey will have napkins, plates, cups and plastic utensils for us. Thank you Harvey. We will have the Donuts, Pastries and Juice drinks.
We need someone to bring a coffee pot, provide coffee, along with another pot to supply hot water for tea and hot cocoa. If someone could please step up on this and bring these items along with tea bags and cocoa, that would be great! We cannot do this because of our continued travel Sunday morning to BC and our boat will be fully packed.
Thank you in advance for somebody stepping up to provide this. A warm beverage in hand will make conversation go better, will make those donuts go down easier and taste better too! |

I am looking at putting a charger system on my truck to boat rig so that I can charge the boat batteries while towing. There is another thread about that here:
http://www.c-brats.com/viewtopic.php?t=16630&highlight=
and I may be ordering a kit to do it with. It is called "Toad-Charge" and the link is here:
http://www.lslproducts.net/ToadChargePage.html
There is a price decrease if they are purchased in a pack of 5. Anyone coming to Friday Harbor interested in going in on this. (I am going to order the 60 foot kit (if I do order). and will know by this weekend.
Please PM me if interested.
Harvey

some where in the cbrat gathering box is a coffee dispenser I think. Susan bought it a few years ago so we would have it for the events. if several people made coffee and poured it in to that you would have coffee for everyone. Everyone but me because i dont drink the devil bean. Susan always found a local cafe or coffee hut to fill it for us first thing in the morning. _________________ Thomas J Elliott

Thank you Keith for bringing Coffee, Tea and Cocoa. We can keep that little Mr. Coffee maker going full time! If someone knows where that dispenser went to and could bring it that would be great. Maybe someone has a smaller dispenser or Thermos type insulated dispenser in their boat or on-hand to be used to help Keith with the hot liquids. At the least, the Mr. Coffee machine will work. Personally, I am good with even instant coffee just as long as the water is good and hot! Thanks Keith and Tom.

Your welcome Gary.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone.

In addition to christenings, we will be available to share information with anybody thinking about The Great Loop. We are Gold Loopers 2017. If you don't know what The Great Loop is, Google it! And since we are pretty regular winter Arizonans now (five years), talk to us about snow-birding if you are interested in that. Localboy Mark - pretty sure you will enjoy retirement, and in Arizona you shovel sunshine off your patio instead of snow!

There is Sunset Marina, West Vancouver. and Union Steamship company Marina in Snug Cove on Bowen Island. I have been to Sunset, it's OK, but have not been to Steamship. have talked to them at the Seattle Boat Show, always seem welcoming and cordial.

We are 1st time posters to this group. We have kicked around buying a boat to travel as you all have and found this group to follow, love the name C-Brats. We are planning to attend the Friday Harbor event next month to network and learn more about this lifestyle. We will have a truck and camper. Could someone recommend a campground that would be close to the dock?
Thank you! _________________ Dan & Arlyne Rost |
