I see in various photos of CD22's that their is a standard rear deck cover made of canvas or sunbrella.
My new (to me) CD22 is outfitted with snaps for a cover, (and once had a cover as evidenced by the photos by the previous owner on this site).
Does anyone know if there is a company that makes these covers?
Here's a photo: http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?set_albumName=album2499&id=IMG_0402&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php
Thanks to all for your help. _________________ "Ain't no nookie like Chinookie"---Ray Troll

It's usually called a mooring cover. You probably need to take your boat to a marine canvas place so they can measure and see where the snaps are. There is not much in off the shelf stuff like that for C-Dorys.
Angola Canvas makes full covers for C-Dorys. I don't know if they have a pattern for a mooring cover. |

Dgeorge,
Unfortunately, though they are all very similar, they are also custom made. Some snap to the aft end of the cabin top and some slide in a track at the aft end of the cabin top. Lastly, snaps around the perimeter of the side and aft section of the cover are located in different places, not to mention position of the bimini top frame has to have holes and Velcro to go around it (everyone's bimini frames are slight different in location).
I just had one made of Sunbrella for my new boat and have always kept the cover on my 22, when The bimini was not covering the cockpit. My friend Scott, has a 22 on the lift next to my boat and it too, is slightly different... _________________ Steve Baum

If you have one made get the slide track for the cabin top. |

I've had all my coverings made by LoHaus Covers, in Cottage Grove, just outside Madison, WI. He does a great job, albeit rarely by when promised. (But the wait is worth it.) He is well known in the area and fairly priced. However, I would expect you could find someone local that also does custom work. Ask at a local marina or dealer. Colby |

Angola Canvas does indeed have patterns for the 22 Cruiser mooring cover like the one in your photo. They ship it with the snaps in a bag, so you can attach them in the appropriate locations to match up with your existing snaps.
The cost of the cover (Sunbrella fabric), was about $400 plus shipping, when I got mine about 2 years ago. No photos yet, as I still haven't installed it...funny thing, I actually didn't even plan to order one but the communications with Angola was a bit challenging due to it being the busy season...so when I ordered a full-boat cover I somehow ended up buying the slant-back cockpit cover too. Good quality products though, and I plan to install it at some point.

To get the cover from Angola would be great. Many of the boats have the piece of aluminum or plastic extrusion, called an awning rail on the back of the cabin. There is a "Bolt rope" which slides into the extrusion for both the cockpit cover/slant back--This is the best way to attach the cover to the back of the cabin.
The snaps are easy to install. If Angola does not send the tool--you can get a "set" and "Anvil" to set the snaps in place. You can put purchase a simple set and anvil from Amazon for $7.. I carry one of these small and simple sets with me on the boat, along with a number of snaps. I have several other professional setting tools, but the cheap one is satisfactory.
I like to make the hole in the Sunbrella layers with a soldering gun or iron--since it fuses the fibers at the edge of the hole. I also put an extra piece of 8 oz Dacron to stiffen where the snap is going--but not essential. _________________ Bob Austin
