I just looked at the pics of the Anna Leigh and thought the magazine rack, galley shelf, and instrument shelf enclosure was really nice and a very good use of space Thumbs Up . My question is, How is the shelf and rack fastened to the boat?" Crook . The rack is under the helm against the starboard side of the hull and the galley rack is secured to the roof. Just planning ahead and trying to learn from others successes and not quite successes. Thanks, Butch.

The rack rests on the 1 inch lip just above the compartment that opens under the helm. I screwed the aft end of the rack onto the vertical side of the cabinet under the seat from the inside and into the rack so you dont see any screws. The over head cabinet is held up on the forward end by glueing (that 5800 stuff) a 1" piece of stock, the same depth as the inside measurement, to the roof on the inside upper corner of the cabinet and after that dries I used some nice looking SS screws through the top side of the cabinet into the 1 inch strip. So the mounting strip ends up on the inside of the cabinet at the top.The other end is tight to the back bulkhead and just srcewed into the back bulkhead. I t is fairly thick back there, but measure so you don't go through.

I'll have to go to the picture and see if any of that actually shows.

David M, Nice job on the cabinet mods. They are both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Pete

Thanks ever so much for the info. What you all do to your boats personalize them and make the setup even more useful. I appreciate any input you can spare along with the lessons learned as not what to do. Thanks! Butch
