Hey guys. I am finally a C-Brat! The Tomcat that I bought needs a new port side window (all parts of sliding window). I also need to replace the port side front window. Has anybody had any luck matching the OEM windows? Who made them?

Thanks!

I believe the mfg for the windows was Diamond Sea Glaze.

Awesome, thank you!

If anyone has successfully replaced these windows, please share how it went and if everything matched OK. I am a stickler for that kind of stuff.

I replaced a couple of windows on my CD-22 myself simply by taking them out and going to a local auto glass shop where they can cut and trim replacements out of standard auto safety glass.

Not a problem for any good shop.

Hardest part was finding window tinting film to match the existing tint which had been done for a former owner elsewhere.

Take the whole boat in and have it done professionally if you don't want to mess with it yourself.

Diamond Sea Glaze can be expensive, comparatively, especially with shipping added.

Joe. Teeth Thumbs Up

Thanks for the info Joe!

I am a good hike from Sea Glaze, so I bet that shipping will be pricey.

Is the frame and channel in place and undamaged? If so you can get the glass locally, and order the "handle"--get low profile and the middle wiper/seal (vertical piece) from Diamond Sea Glaze. The Tom Cat 24 side window is different than the 255, so they may not be have it in stock.

Unfortunately, the aluminum frame/channel is gone on both of those. The side and that one front window have had the frame and window removed. Then the previous owner did a "do it yourself" window fix of his own. They catch water and aren't the long term fix, so I want to do it right. I guess matching the frame is what I am most concerned about, because if I can't match the other 5 good OEM windows on the boat, I will end up replacing 4+ windows so the boat doesn't look mismatched.

I spoke to one local marine window specialist and his windows would be a more heavy duty style and wouldn't have the slide opening for the side windows. I immediately thought that would be a deal breaker. I assumed you guys open those side windows a lot. Is that correct?

The opening windows for the side in the Tom Cat 24 is almost essential, because of the Greenhouse effect of the sloping windshield. Do you have the opening windshield center: How about a "visor" over the front window? (usually a SS frame with canvas laced on.

With that much damage, you will want to go with Diamond Sea Glaze. If sent ground, the shipping is probably going to be a minor cost. Most likely the old windows have some corrosion and paint loss--you may end up painting them in the restoration process....

Maybe not so much for the guys in the PNW, but in Florida it's essential!

OK, that makes sense. I figured those windows would help a lot. I do not have the visor, but I do have the center window that opens. The rest of the windows are actually in great shape, so that is why I was really hoping I could match them and keep them.
