|
|
I was wondering if anyone has had the problems I'm having getting my new boat delivered? At this point, I'm not sure if it's the factory or my dealer (Bulldog Boatwerk in Florida). The boat was done weeks ago but seems the delivery truck is broken down, etc.
Thanks, Craig _________________ Craig & Joyce Mock

Could be they'e just waiting to get a full load of boats to head that way, not just a single one---you wouldn't want to pay for a single delivery, whether you're paying for it yourself, you're a dealer and you included trnsportation in the boat price, or the factory is paying the freight (less likley). "Could be they'e just waiting to get a full load of boats to head that way" -- I had that experience on my floorboards, by waiting until they had a full boat shipment coming this way, I didn't pay shipping (and that was a lot).
I see Bulldog is an E-Tech dealer, is that what you went with? |

I understand the need to ship a full truck completely. My main problem has been with the completely unreliable stream of information. The excuse seems to change everyday. And to top that off, the factory people seem to be on the phone or out of the office.
I went with the good ol' Honda 90. I have a problem getting 2 cycle oil and it costs a fortune on the island. |

Think Jeff is at a boat show right now. Luck!

It must be awful waiting on a boat -- I went all the way out to New Mexico and got mine.
I should add that the "problems" above were getting the floorboards -- turns out they went to a dealership that's no longer a dealership (how's that for being PC) -- anyway, it all worked out. Other than the Wallas (which I'm putting back in today), I've had no real problems.
Hopefully I'll be making some environmentalists very unhappy in a short while . . . Love that diesel smell! |

Just got a phone call from Jeff and I feel a lot better now. He explained that they are at the mercy of their delivery company and have no control over them. My main complaint has been the lack of correct information flowing to me. But now I understand that they are as frustated as I am and they too had hoped to have the boat on the road much sooner. It is cerntainly great customer service when you get a phone call from the owner who even knew who I was and all about my boat. |

I have to say the Factory guys are just great. I met Jeff looking at a new C-Dory. We wound up buying a used 22 from a couple in Montana. Jeff has e-mailed me a couple of times too see if we have the boat yet etc. I think he really is interested in people enjoying the boats. Not just selling them and moving on. We are waiting on our boat and should have it after Thanksgiving. |

I think Jeff and the C-Dory group know that HAPPY C-Dory owners are their best resource, and can sell more boats for them than all the advertising they could possibly buy, and conversely, a bunch of UNHAPPY owners would really tank their sales...it is a mutually beneficial relationship, we have great boats and company that goes out of its way to take care of us, and they have a "sales force" of thousands. I LIKE it!

Pat,
Spot on, as usual. Wish I could say that so beautifully.
And I just spent a couple of hours in dreamland looking over the new 25 T-Cat now at EQ... like WOW! Killer boat!
They have taken my 24 TomCat and covered all the bases that were not well-covered. This is going to be a 25 to beat the (....) out of 27-30 ft. cruisers in all areas. Speed, economy, accommodation, maneuverability, visibility... this little pocket cruiser has it all.
Golly gee, if I could be an attorney for a week or two I could buy one!

It's not just your dealer...
My boats just arrived, almost 3 weeks after the original scheduled date. This really isn't a "C Dory" problem, although if they owned the trucks it would help. I know it's frustrating, but being patient really does help... A friendly call to your dealer should get answers, but alot of dealers don't make the time to stay on top of these issues (not saying your dealer isn't)
I personally called Apryll several times a week, until she could give me firm dates. I give her this.. at least when she didn't know, she just admitted it, rather than pipe me full of "sunshine".
Sometimes, you just can't get the real answer when you ask a friend of a friend, who plays golf with the guy that drives the truck...
I promise this... You'll get there... and when you do....fish in the box makes everyone feel a little better! (It might even make the engine run better too, although this may be fiction) _________________ The best things in life come on a stick! |
