Greetings.

I had the same question several months ago. Seems like where the factory rivited the rub rail, they spot puttied or someting the inside of the hull. Now at those spots, the interior hull paint is chipping/flaking off. I called the factory and they eventually sent me some matching paint; two colors-one to match the white and the other to create that splash. I have yet to use it. When I get home today, I will see what is on the can and let you know.

Let me say that it took PLENTY of communication with the Factory to get the right color and type of paint.

These are the numbers that I have on the paint supplied by the factory:
948-WA-441 White Enamel for the main color
948-NC-009 Tan Enamel for the splatter.
Hope this helps.

Thanks John!!!

Hilton.. David Hilton. Thanks Marc ... I could not recall his name.. Let's contact him and see if he can start on C-Byrd on the 11th of April. I should arrive just in time on the 10th for us to hit the cut Thumbs Up Thumbs Up for a couple of hours..if you can get a kitchen pass and put off dinner till we are back. Mr. Green

I can leave the boat down for a week or two...but gotta have her ready and back up in the Cumberland River for our gathering.

On the colors... for the splatter.... let's try to find a nice Confederate Grey or Navy Grey color... rather than the beige color. I think that would look better on the black and white boat.

Thoughts?

WOW....a little over a year since I made a post on this link...

Well, my new boat is great, and my fear of having a larger boat to put in and out by myself was only a fear....and is proving to not at all being a tasks...

So... C-Byrd has remained under cover and under used since about Oct07... so I may soon uncover her, take some current shots of the boat...and list her for sale....so...if yall have anyone who would appreciate the very last 18 Angler that was produced by the Toland family,... drop me a note....

Will be a bit busy and on the road some from mid-May thru about mid-Jun... Look forward to seeing some of yall on the waters soon!!

Interesting last year. Just after the post prior to this one, was contacted by the gentleman who bought Jabez from me a few years back...and we contracted on C-Byrd. Well...it has been an interesting year for us both and C-Byrd is now in Chattanooga TN area with her new owner Clif.

Clif is an owner/lurker who does not type much...but reads often. I am glad it was raining like a cow getting relief on a hot rock....cause that for sure covered my tears as C-Byrd rolled up the driveway. I am truly glad Clif has her and truly appreciates that he now has hull # 14 of 14 of the no longer produced Classic C-Dory 18' Angler. A great boat....with much love put into her during restoration perior.

So... today is the first day in many years I have as an individual been C-Dory-less.... but fear not....we still have them in the family, I have recruited a few other C-Dory owners and C-Brats in the area...and we gather and have fun often.

To the Toland Family for building one hell of a great 18' boat!!

Here ..Here!

Patrick, you did some wonderful things to that ol' boat. She still has many years of faithful service because of you!

hello byrdman,
hope i can clear up the mystery regarding who sold mr. alm his original 50hp johnson. i was recently sitting with my great grandfather, in the local corner bar. we hadn't been drinking for no more than 7 or 8 hours when this conversation came up. i asked my great grandfather if he knew anything about this mystery and he told me he did indeed. in fact he stated, he was the one who sold the 50hp johnson. so, after one year you now have the information your were seeking.
as always. best regards
pat

Thanks Patrick for the update. I have never hung around in a local pub like that (duck all...here comes another bolt of lightening.... Mr. Green ), but if I had, that would have been a great day to be there. I need to cruise up that way and try it with you and your Great Grand Father. I never had the opportunity to meet any of mine, due to them spending too many days just like that. Beer Beer Here Here to hard working Irish Thumbs Up CoolSmile

I have a friend up in OH that has just retired and we have a need for a road trip very soon. This may be just what we needed.

byrdman,
i spoke with my great grandfather, he's 135 years old, doesn't really say a whole lot but can drink with the best of them, at any rate, he's interested in joining us and i didn't have the heart to say no. just a word to the wise, he gets a little frisky around any of the girls under 80, so help me keep an eye on him and all he be good.
looking forward to seeing you thursday. so that i will be clean of heart i am at this minute beginning my abstinence of food, beverage and sex.
wait just a minute, i'm almost 60 and better rethink this abstinence, as of this minute, no more food or beverage.
best regards
