Hello,
I finally found a 25 c dory. Though during the survey found a compromised hull. A bunk on the trailer had pierced the hull. Unfortunately it was soaked and rotten. My question is I have a shop willing to re core both the hull and cockpit. They plan to remove all gear and motor roll the boat strip all bad and reassemble. It is a spend 3ndevor but am getting the boat fairly inexpensive. Having waited and the fact is the just aren't that many for sale makes it worth it. Any thoughts is the boat resell able etc. . Happy holidays |

I have a 2005 26' ProAngler C-Dory. This summer I discovered water in the hull which compromised the transom and the hull.
I found a professional boat repair shop in Anchorage that found the leak in the poorly bedded 12 bolts that attach the Armstrong bracket to the transom. He took the engines, bracket, steering and inner hull/transom off and replaced it. Approx. $18k for that plus he did another $2k worth of "pretty stuff" and bottom paint.
It is all done and ready for next summer. It looks better than previously. _________________ On the HIGH TIDE-II, wife Carolyn and I.....Another summer fishing on the HIGH TIDE II in the Cook Inlet at Cape Ninilchik, Alaska.

Thank you for the reply. Gives me confidence in the project. What material did they use. The shop I am dealing with are talking about composite . Such awesome boats and hard to find for sale is my motivation to save it. Happy holidays |

I have done many transoms, stringers, and floors myself. The problem with a core hull repair, would be keeping the original hull running surfaces true. Without the boat sitting in a mold, nearly impossible. And upside down, the hull surface is not supported.
A wavey running surface affects how the boat runs.
Water in boats, always seems to make the job grow bigger. _________________ Cdory 22 Angler
