I’m on Yellowstone Lake now, so don’t have precise records, but do know I’ve towed our CD22 approximately 40,000 miles with a single axle EZ loader trailer & another 40,000 miles on a duel axel EZ loader trailer without ever having a bearing problem on either. With the single, I needed to be much more weight conscious. I do prefer the duel, due mainly to lack of weight concerns & a easier ride on the boat. When purchasing the twin axel in 2007 my requirements were torsion bar suspension, electric over hydraulic brakes, bunk boat supports & upgrade in tires.

Due to our making many long distance tows, I carry two spare tires & one spare complete hub with bearings, but in 80,000 have only had one flat & as I previously said no bearing failure.

Jay

Not mentioned is the importance of “good tires”. Recently GoodYear has again started production in the USA, with the “Endurance” brand trailer tire.. Replace every 5 years.

I agree, tires and their maintenance are important also. I've been running Carlisles and quite happy with them. Load Range C on the tandem axle. I've debated going to a higher load rating, but as I said, I've been very happy with my current tires. And I do put a lot of mileage on the trailer! I haven't had as good of luck with the Goodyear Marathons, but will have to check out the Endurance next time I replace the trailer tires. Colby

So a CD 22 weighs 4,000 lbs loaded. There is no single axle boat trailer in this world that will carry that much weight safely.

Our 22C came with a single axle trailer that is rated to haul a 3700 lb boat. The boat and trailer weigh close to that. If I was buying new I'd buy a tandem trailer.

We had a single axcle trailer that had 16 in tires and was rated for 4200lb It was used by Bayliner for their 21 ft bowriders that I picked up because the new owner did not want the trailer .It was Great it towed my cd 22 weight on trailer was 3700 lb . The galvanized trailer weighed 900lb so boat with a Suzuki 90 and 2 batteries was 2800 lb this was not its cruising weight this was day trip weight . We used this trailer for a year towing our cc-23 back and forth for maintenance . I finally bought a alum tandem axcle trailer for the cc-23 weight for boat engine and trailer is a little over 5000 lb.The reason for a tandem is long distance towing also easier to fix a flat and also if you do have a problem you can always ride it on 3 wheels to a place you can fix it .

For short hauls and maintenance a single axcle trailer works fine for a 16-22 cd .

I will be buying new tires for my single axle trailer and have been doing some research. Came across this video. Interesting.

I wouldn't buy swamp land from that guy.
Look at the new Goodyear trailer tires. I'm happy with mine.

Yeah. I know what you mean. He owns Boar Wheel www.boarwheel.com but has no swamp land for sale. Only tires and wheels that seem to be innovative and high quality. At least his satisfied customers think so.
