I don't have time to deal with mine at this time but I will never use it---can't abide diesel---- and will someday replace with an induction cooktop. Is there any market value for a used Wallis diesel-only cooktop?

There absolutely is a market. I have two I bought used, one replaced an alcohol on my CDory and one in me 4 Wheel pop-up trick camper. In the cold humid PNW I tend to run the one in my CD all the time Im out and an electric heater in dock. Ive used the one in my camper down to -30 in northern Canada hunting. Had to keep a window cracked on lowest setting.. Try that with propane. Id like one for my yurt now since the wood stove is either too hot or Im getting out of my sleeping bag to put more wood in it. How much do you want for yours? It needs to be working. I came here from Tennessee 31 years age and Im kind of a Sam McGee myself...I like to be warm. Apologies to Poet Robert Service. Rob

I agree that there is a market. I have bought two of the "used"--one probably was new, but had been gone over by Scan Marine. I have never had a problem with the Wallas, I could not fix. But, the current boat has induction stove tops--and are the best for our FL. heat!

I will have a unit (a lightly used 85D with blower lid) for sale this fall, but I still have to pull it all out...then install a true furnace and a new counter top.

Oh Great now you tell me! I have been running my wallis on Kerosene or Kleen Heat or Diesel or Jet-A for 10yrs now(at 300+ hrs. per yr.) just great. Maybe I should have read the directions or listened to the boys at Scan Marine Laughing Wink Mr. Green

Periodically, Doug from SCAN Marine has to point out the the MODEL OF YOUR WALLAS MAKES A DIFFERENCE, e.g., here is a post of his from one of the many previous threads on the subject:

"Please be careful posting about fuels for Wallas products. Wallas builds devices that burn diesel and other devices that burn kerosene. Some can cross the line between fuels and some can't. There are no models specified in this posting/string, so no way to know which devices are being discussed.

Please contact us about your device and the right fuel. Advice is free and available every week day, 9 - 5 PT.

Doug at Scan

My owners manual says to use diesel number 1 or 2 only. There is a whole lot that I don't know about this boat so I'm sticking to the instructions.

In all of our boating and RVing it has been very unusual to find anything other than #2 diesel. The #1 is more highly refined, more volatile, and many places is Kerosene! The #2 also has more lubricating ability. Usually winter diesel is a blend of #1 and #2--don't know about AK in the winter! You used to see #1 diesel pumps at some marinas, where there were a lot of the older 2 stroke Detroit (GM) diesel engines--and they ran better on #1 diesel. These were available from 1 cyl to 6 cyl inline and 8 cyl up to 24 cyl. in V configuration. Since they are not able to meet EPA standards, the old two stroke diesels are no longer made.

If you live in the great white north like I do, diesel changes with the season. I use farm fuel in my tractor and F350 and I have to be careful not to have much of summer diesel in my tanks after about late October or it will jell in the cold. Up here the fuel dealers switch to #1 diesel about mid October and back to #2 in about April. Summer diesel has more pulling power, so the farmers and truckers want this in their tanks when they can. If you want to stock up on #1 diesel, do it somewhere cold in the winter. I think if you are somewhere warm like Florida you may have a hard time finding #1 even in the winter

I use Clear Kerosene designed for space heaters because that is what the previous owner used. In two seasons of use I have not had any problems. I'll have to check my Wallas manual to see what it says.

Price reduce to $800, or best offer.

I would like to see a C-Brat enjoy this nice stove especially since it is getting cold in most areas. Have a nice day.
