Has anyone ever tried this?

Harvey asks if anyone tried ScotchBrite pads. Yes, I have, and the failure of that put me in touch with a professional auto/boat window glass shop who sold me the Amaz.

Thank you Bob. I have not seen Amaz, but do have some BarKeeprs Friend. Thought I might try that with the Scotch Brite. Do you know which SB pad you used?

Harvey,
I used the green ScotchBrite pad.

Amaz from Amazon, for less than $13--shipping free.

I find that I am buying 95% of what I need for the boat's upgrades from Amazon--as cheap as any of the other sources, have the item in 2 days most of the time...

When I was in the military we used to 'wash' the whole exterior's of helicopter's in WD 40. So our little C-Dory's windows should be no problem.

Back to the Amaz. This is a specific water stain remover, which often works when other cleaners don't. Ace Hardware has it. Home Depot advertises that they have it.

The White vinegar is an item we keep aboard for many uses.

Agree with the RainX to avoid the stains..

A-Maz is the Shit.
Thanks Bob!!!

My parents had a drive in restaurant that had large glass windows along the service counter. One time the employees (mostly high school age girls) used Scotch-Brite pads to clean them. The tiny scratches "fogged" the windows and they all had to be replaced because they did not look clean after that. These were the green dish washing pads, but 3M makes Scotch-Brite type pads in several different "grits" or Mohs ratings. For that reason, I never use them on glass.

Interesting: I did not know that those very hard abrasives were in some of the "ScotchBrite" pads. The ones I used were well beyond their prime, and soft and flexible--probably no abrasive.
