Nice to read your story and see your photos!

I left out the similar dock rash I got Sunday while weathering a pop up T Storm on my Mom's dock on Lake Waccamaw NC... I'm hopeful I can knock/pry it back in but we'll see.

It looks like you have a fantastic cruising ground and some great 'crew' to enjoy the boat with.

Dock rash is the same as parking lots dings in your car. It's going to happen and there is very little you can do to prevent it. If it hasn't happened yet, it will. The sooner you take your lumps and move on, the happier you'll be.

YUP, or you can use judiciously placed fenders, and rationally secured dock lines and then it happens less often. OH, also, remember when docking, Neutral is your friend Wink

Thank you, I read your post with absolute glee as I am getting ready for my 1st launch after years of planning and weeks of preparation and getting to know my boat I still am waking up in absolute panic thinking about it. It is good to hear your experience and we will just take our time. No more and no less. I would be interested in info or timeline on a one person launch with a 22'? we are in our 70's and my wife is not a driver or water person so I dunno and of course if it is crowded at the launch site it does not help.
