Thanks Bob, will be launching 9/28 out of Point Park, Pascagoula Mississippi for the Mississippi 110 event. Meetup at Round Island and then cruise Horn, and other islands for the next 4 days all weather permitting. Pat plans to join in with his Cdory 19 Angler. PM me if your interested in going. Then will load up and relaunch at Mahogany Mills Sunday after picking up my wife Sarah at the airport. Cruise Pensacola Bay with anchor points of Ft McRee, Navarre ( maybe Big Sabine), and Dead Man's Island. May cruise over your way if time permits.

I've been lurking a while but now have joined. I don't a C-dory (yet) but have found this site great for many general boating questions I've had. I'm moving to Whidbey from Santa Barbara and looking to get my first boat and settle into the Island Life. Went down and scoped out a really fresh Tomcat in SB. The price seems a little high and it doesn't include a trailer. The search continues...

Mike,

Welcome to the C-Brats family. Take your time in finding just the right C-Dory boat during your move. Whidbey Island is a great island. Your are close to the mainland and yet so close to jumping over to the other San Juan Islands and beyond.

In May of 2022, there will be an annual C-Brats Get-Together at Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. Look for postings on this in early January. Last year at the event we had about 30 C-Dory boats and quite a few other attendees that were boat-less. With such a variety of C-Dory boats at this event and with the years of boating experience as you meet the owners, it may help you in your decision concerning a purchase.

Glad you are here.

Greeting Mike, from your neighbor to the westerly. Gary is right about Whidby being a good choice, especially if you love the sound of Freedom ( the Navy's Growlers -- They are soooo cool,) and lots of other things neat on that island. Good luck in your search for just the right TC-255. They are really nice boats.
Look forward to seeing you at the FH-CBGT this May. It is a great meet up time.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Mike and I'm a new member, and the proud new owner of C-Fisher. Wayne took great care of her, and I'm really excited for future adventures. You may see me in the wild mostly around area 11 on out to Westport or the straight around Port Townsend. If you see us I hope you'll say hello!

Hi Mike and congratulations on your purchase of C-Fisher. Glad you found us and welcome to the group. We will certainly look for you on the water!
Go the the Memberlist on the top of the header column and send a PM to one of the three first people on the index (cbadmin, TyBoo or Da Nag). Ask to be made a photo account so that we may see C-Fisher along with what you are doing on the water. We love to see photos of what members are up to.

P.S. Wow! I notice that you were searching for a C-Dory less than two weeks ago on 10/25/22. That was fast to secure and purchase C-Fisher so soon. Good Job!

Hello C-Brats! Excited to join the forum. Retiring in two year's and starting my search for used 25. Any thoughts on the best year and most versatile c-dory for cruising and fishing needs on great lakes? Thanks in advance!

MMAY, Welcome aboard. We have several members from Illinois, and we own a farm in Ford County.
I have owned both a 2003 and a 2007 C Dory 25. I much referred the 2007, with the fiberglass interior. The fiberglass interior started appearing at the very end of 2006--2007 boats. So a majority of 2007 boats have the older wooden interior. I would take any of the 2005 on boats because of the way the head and holding tank and under cockpit flooring are arranged. There are going to be more of the former boats available. The most prolific C Dory 25 production was between 2003 and 2007, as the Reynold's dynasty faded away, there were a series of owners of C Dory line, and did not become stable until a few years ago, when North West Marine Industries took over the line, along with their Sea Sport line.

Currently there are few 25's for sale, and they sell fast--at times for inflated prices. But new ones are much more expensive, and will continue to go up in price.

I plan to buy a 16 ft Angler soon; therefore, I wanted to connect with some good people who love boating and C-Dory. Once I get it, I will post some pictures. CoolSmile

I guess this is my official "joining" of y'all C-Brats.

I'm Joe Dowd and my wife is Diane.
We're retired university professors living in
western Spokane county in eastern Washington state.

We purchased our 1988 C-Dory 22' Cruiser "Heron" October 2022.

Searching the Brats site, I found a "for sale" ad for our boat from 2018
with accompanying pictures. I combined the two with some updated
details and posted it here:

http://www.the-dowds.com/CDory/DowdBoat.html

In doing so, I had some questions:

1. Did the 1988 model year 22' Cruisers come with a pair of 17 or 18 gallon
tanks? To find out for myself, I'd like to run the tank dry then fill it up
but I'm not so sure about running a fuel injected motor out of fuel.

2. Is the bulkhead at the front of the v-berth that separates the vb
from the anchor rode locker stock from the factory?

3. Is the freshwater tank really 20 gallons?

4. Heron has an icebox rather than a refrigerator.
Can anyone recommend a 12v fridge that'd fit?

5. The hull number is DOR22355E888. Is this interpretable in addition to
the obvious C-Dory 22'? For example, does the "355" mean anything?

The only boating experience I have is from 30 years ago owning runabouts
and using them to explore Puget Sound, Lake Powell and Lake Travis.

Currently, I'm spending my "boat time" on overnight fishing trips to Lake
Roosevelt getting to know Heron's various systems. All this technology
(chartplotter/fish finder, radar, anchor/windlass, auto pilot, VHF) is new to
me. I doubt I'll make this year's Friday Harbor C-Brats Get Together but it's
my goal to make it there in the future, hopefully 2025.

354 would be the number of boats built yours being #355. last 2 digits are the model year 88.

Hi everybody, guess I should introduce myself. My name is Steve, and a few days ago I picked up a 1999 C-Dory 22 Cruiser from Curt in Michigan, and am just beginning to familiarize myself with the boat.

Living in Minnesota I have a fair amount of experience handling small boats, but nothing as "large" as a 22 foot C-Dory! Very Happy So expect lots of questions, hopefully not too redundant to those asked before me (I will try to search first).

This summer I intend to take her out on Lake Superior and tour the Apostle Islands for starters, and might even do the Great Loop with my dog Daisy someday. It strikes me as sort of a waterborne form of overlanding (overwatering?), another of my hobbies.
