Good idea! We’ll certainly do that.

And thanks for the welcome!

Hi all,
I want to take down my ad for my 2018 TomCat for sale. Can anyone tell me how to do that?

Our family of 4 recently became the second owners of a 2017 25' Cruiser. We are lifelong Alaskans and have spent our time on a Tolman open skiff and decided to move to a cruiser to accommodate the growing family! Thanks for all the info!

Hi folks. Great site with lots of info and I’ve barely scratched the surface. I’m seriously looking at a 2007 22 cruiser. Likely going to give a deposit tomorrow if we agree on the price. It’s seems like it’s priced fairly so I’m not planning on much dickering. It will be contingent on satisfactory survey results and sea trial. Looks well used but maintained with low hour (so I ’m told, didn’t check gauges yet) twin Yamaha 50s. Anything in particular to look out for? It seems well built and I really like being able to inspect fuel tanks and see a lot of the wiring. We’re pretty excited at the possibility of having a roof over our heads coming from a Grady white tournament.

Welcome to the C-BRATS. You are going to love having twins. Those Yami 50', (ah What year are they?) are great engines, and once you get used to steering with power (F&R) you will be able to make that spin 360 inside it's own skin. The 50's are the same block as the 60 and 70 so a bit heavier, but also I have heard they can be "turned up" a notch or two very easily. If they are low hours and carbed, find out what the process was when shutting down, (carbs drained, or left and tanks filled or partially full and what if any fuel treatment was used. Carbed but not fuel treatment (Stabil, or ??? to keep from fuel separation and carb gunking) for the next season.

You will have a great power setup. Enjoy and stick around. This is a great place.

Hi y'all. Joined the group because I'm pretty convinced I need a C-Dory. Thought I'd learn here and maybe even find one to buy.

Most of my experience is on sailboats, tall ships and larger RIBs.

I'm an old man and like to start cruising with the wife. We have a goal of visiting Great Lakes islands over the next few years.

Anyway - looking forward to chatting, meeting y'all and learning some things.

Good evening Chuck, and Welcome. Yup, you can learn anything you want or everything, about the C-Dory boats here, and meet the nicest people on the water right here. Most of them are pretty nice on land too, so if you get to meet them, plan on a nice long chat.

For Sale boats go quick, so be ready to move fast (hours to days - and not many of them) Know what you want, and maybe be ready to travel to get it.

Welcome aboard Chuck. You will find that many of us are long term sailors, but we got too old for hauling sheets and hoisting halyards.

In 1981 I saw my first C Dory 22. I vowed that when I got too old to sail I would get one of those. Well, in the last 18 years I have owned 5 different C Dorys...I had stopped sailing in 1998, and had to give trawlers a try...before the C Dorys.

Hi y'all.

I'm Dave, and I just joined up to further educate myself on the C-dory thing. I'm a big fan of the layouts (I hate a wet boat) and lightweight construction. My little family has outgrown our current boat (this one is four feet too short), and we're looking for something with shelter.

Guess I should finally introduce myself. I am the risk taker that flew to Seattle from Kentucky to buy that 22 Craigslist find last month. In the process of converting drum to disc brakes. Plan on 10 days in the Mississippi/Florida panhandle the first part of October. The boat was nameless, so via a Facebook survey we settled on C' YA. Thanks for all the great information on this site.
