Very interesting. I have never heard of a boat shaking apart from thicker sidewall tires? Perhaps they were out-of-round? Was this a C-Dory you nearly lost from shaking tires? _________________ John & Vicki Clark

BTDT, the boat was a Catalina 22 sailboat and while it shook, it didn't come apart. Catalina sailboats are the Chevvie/Ford of the sailboat fleet, cheap (or used to be,) rugged and good sailers. i really don't know what caused the rough ride but I just changed tyres and wheels. You get to make your guess.
Again, lets not get too literal. I will repeat the point I was trying to make, apparently unsuccessfully. When you get trailers that aren't tailored for the job, there's unintended consequences. And we don't know what they are, but getting stiffer springs and wheels could be a problem.
Or were you just pulling my leg? If so I surrender.
