I am ordering a boat cover for my C-22 from Angolo Canvas. My question is how other owners attach the cover? Snaps, draw string? Also does anyone have thoughts about mooring lines going through cover or under.
Thanks,

I got my 22 cover from Angola canvas. I use it on the trailer with ropes going through the hem and tied to the trailer frame. I had to add a number of additional grommets to the hem for the ropes I needed.
When I ordered my cover I had Angola add to the sides of the cover. Their design only comes down to the rub rail. I had them add about 2' to the cover all the way around.
The cover I ordered has the integrated motor cover. This helps hold the sloped portion over the cockpit tight. However, IMO this puts some stress on the seam where the motor cover part attaches. I had them reinforce this seem.
Angola is easy to work with. I sent them pictures and dimensions of my boat so they could add reinforcing pads in the right places. After I first got the cover I wanted some changes, so I sent it back and they did the mods for a modest charge (mostly for additional fabric). |

Just some random thoughts. The full boat cover from Angola is usually used when the boat is stored on a trailer. Most of the time at the dock a slant back mooring cover is used. That said, I have seen full covers on docked boats where the cover was held down by water filled gallon jugs suspended from the grommets. _________________ MartyP

You could also install snaps above the rub strip. |

I also have an Angola cover. I use 1/8" dacron line, and a taut line hitch to the trailer frame. For years on a number of boats slipped in the water, we made sand bags, which attached to the points where the straps or lines would tie the cover down. I would probably add a "common sense"--this is the turn the tab type of fasteners. To keep the cover in place just in case of a heavy wind.
My cover almost covers the accent stripe on both sides--I shift it slightly to the port side, thus fairly well protecting the accent stripe on the Southern side. I agree that ssobol's idea to add fabric to the side will give better protection. But with the boat in the water, you don't want the be near the water line..On my cover 6" more on each side would have been plenty. _________________ Bob Austin

This is for Harworth. I have some photos of our setup. Problem is I am not familiar with posting. If you want to send me your email address, I will be glad to them to you. The cover we have on the 16 is the same one we had on our 22. We just had it cut down to fit the C-Squirt and it is secured the same way. _________________ Jack
