Anyone have a source for a new fuel tank selector decal? Mine is faded and I'm unable to find a new one.

I solved the problem by drilling 1 hole at the port and 1 hole at the starboard feed position of the pointer and putting a home-made green and red plastic washer under a machine screw to indicate the appropriate position.

Survives better than a decal, probably for the life of the boat.

Good idea, thanks. I've also considered just painting on my own decal. My registration numbers and name is painted on too so wouldn't be a stretch. I like the color coding with the washer.

Brandon,
I had a local trophy shop make a new label. The new label is plastic made for engraving. I selected gray for my top surface color to match my boat's trim color, but you can get any color you want. When engraved below the color surface, the letters are white. The new plastic label came with two sided tape to make placement easy, then I fastened it using the fuel valve screws.
Lastly I ended up replacing the fuel valve (they happen to be inexpensive at West Marine), as the valve, valve stem, handle and screw are all different materials, so I had to cut it off at the valve stem, because the fastener and handle could not be removed any other way.

Thanks Steve, that looks great. There's a trophy shop down the road I'll check out. I tried to remove mine but the screw for the handle was stripped also. Like you said, different metals. I was thinking of trying to drill it out but just cutting off the stem works too. I just put new hoses on it so it shouldn't be to bad to get loose.

Now after this I need to install those lazarette hatches you have.
Thanks

Brandon,
I did not remove the old fuel selection decal, as it is completely covered by the new plastic placard. I forgot to mention that the new fuel placard cost about $18...
The new hatches do not leak (like the old ones did) and just remember that butyl rubber tape (off white color and very inexpensive) is your friend.

I would get a vinyl label place to make a suitable substitute (e.g. diylettering.com) and stick it on myself.

Something I have done for labeling, because I always want to make sure It is what I want to say and where I will be OK with it for a long time is use "post it note" and Sharpie. And now, Post-it" has come out with the new "EXTREME Notes". Water resistant and stick to anything. After a season with that then I get out the label machine.
