Review of 14 I pad Apps for charts and navigation

Bob Scherer, did a write up of 14 apps which are available for the I pad. He utilized them on a trip down the ICW. (He writes a blog, plus a cruising guide to the ICW), and the review is published in Waterway Guide here.

I am not certain what boat he has, but from what I gather from the web site, it may be a Catalina 42 or about that size. So he needs deep water!

I have tried 8 of the apps he reviews, and use Navonics #1, Garmin Blue Charts #2, Tides and charts #3, and occasionally iNavX.

He did a full spread sheet for 82 parameters on 13 apps: Here. He left out Garmin Blue charts since it is available only to prior subscribers, and not being updated.

Dr Bob, thanks!!! The Admiral bought me an i-pad for Christmas and I'm in the process of learning what's out there and deciding. This will help immensely!!
