My wife and I live about 25 miles south of Daytona Beach, on the Atlantic side of the state, and never see other C-Dorys along the Intra-Coastal Waterway, or on the St. Johns River. We saw tons of them on an Alaskan cruise last summer...! I guess Florida is a long way from Alaska. Everybody who sees our boat, whether at a ramp, gas station, or at a light, comments on how cute, cozy, neat, etc., the boat is. What I would like to find out, is if there are other 22 Cruiser owners in the area. If you're out there, give me a shout...!! Thanks. CAPTAINRIVER@JUNO.COM

"Alone in Central Florida" -- feels that way, doesn't it?

I'm on the opposite coast, almost straight across from you. Enjoy the CD -- weather is great for it now (and I too end up giving impromptu tours of mine everytime I launch it . . . part of the fun)

Skip---I will contact you when I get to my place in Melbourne Beach, next month. I'm not really that far from you. I'm planning on spending some time on both the eastern & western sides of the Fla. intercoastal water way and possibly some time on the inland lakes. Rich

The answer to your vessels change of name may be found by "clicking" on the "Forum" section, then scroll down to "Documents", "click" again, then scroll down to "Denaming Ceremony", after reading, go back and "click" on "Christening Ceremony"................all the answers to your questions are just a few "clicks" away... Laughing

Sounds like a Florida Gathering may be on the horizon. The Clara Mae is about ready for another trip to the Sunshine State.

Looking at the "Our C-Dorys" link and sorting on the state.... FL has 43 members signed up on the C-Brat site... and like all other states...some simply do not sign up but we know they are in there....

I would love to do a FL gathering and accomplish something I have always wanted to do...and that is to "Cross The Ditch" and go from Stuart, thru Lake Okeechobee, and out the other side on out to Sanibel.

Could be done from either side...with time on each side.... then, for the logistics of the tow vehicles, we do like Bill and Ell.... and simply put the boats in the water, bring 1/2 the tow vehicles or how many are needed to get tow vehicle drivers back across to the launch ramp, drive across the state, load the boats.

Say....Feb/Mar 06??? Who is ready other than me.

Wanderer and Fred's TomCat will be down at Marathon. Looks like there could be a Gathering with plenty of fried viddles down there in the Sunshine State. Good idea, Byrdman! Round 'em up!

I've done it a few times... one beautiful trip! And you can wash down your boat with fresh water along the way.

I've done it twice - both times on a sailboat!! And gotta agree, it is a beautiful trip. Highly recommend it.

and we're here in St Pete. Also there's a new member right near you in Edgewater/New Smyra Beach called CaptainRiver...... seems like we may have enough people for a gathering right here in Florida..... I'd bet we'd get some wannabe "snow birds"........... Rolling Eyes

Byrdman.... how did you do that sort by State.... when I tried, best I could get it to do was sort by "region", but that really gives you a sort by city if the member filled in his profile...
