Just got finished installing a 30 amp shore power system in my 22 ft cruiser.
Someone know a current small window ac that will fit in the front center window. I know I have seen post photos of different units. but the post were
3-4 years old , manufactures change models and sizes so often. |

You should look at 5000 BTU models. I just measured the window opening and took a tape measure to Wally World to find one that fit.
To fit the one I have, I have to detach the window support strut. I unscrew it from the inside window frame. The plus side is that the strut can be used to hold the window fully open by putting the end on the fore deck and adjusting the length. You do need to have a square drive screwdriver on hand to take the strut out though.
I use pipe insulation on the bottom of the AC and around the window frame to seal the gaps.
IME, 6000 BTU models are a little tight in trying to fit them in the window.
Depending where you live, the choices for AC units might be limited this time of year. Wait a few weeks until the stores get the summer stuff out. |
