I used to visit Kwajalein Atoll once a yr for work. While there, I'd take advantage of the clear, warm water and available boats and dive with friends. We once dropped our anchor right next to a large WWII unexploded bomb. The anchor landed about 3' away! Needless to say we moved. _________________ "We can go over there...behind the 'little one'....."

Boooooo...
Seriously, it was breathtaking diving. On the outside of the atoll, clean drop offs to oceanic depths. Pelagic galore. Only time/place I've ever dove with tuna. Of course there was also tons of sharks. Only time I ever had gray reefs aggressively charge at me, also. I've got pics somewhere. I even have some Japanese sake' bottles we recovered off the wreck of the Akibasan Maru also known as P buoy; sunk Jan 30, 1944.

The heck with the torpedo - what's that hanging off of the port bow? Looks like an anti-ship mine. |
