Norma and Rick are no longer managing Blakely Marina. The status of the marina is up in the air and have no idea if it will still be in operation next summer. We may want to find a fall back location for next summers gathering.
Possible locations, Deer Harbor, Otter Bay, Snug Harbor, take over the dock at Reid Harbor, Stuart Island???

I'd vote for Deer Harbor. (Hopefully, we can make it to a gathering in '06). (Access to a swimming pool is still a BIG plus for at least one member of our family).
Hope all is well with Rick and Norma! _________________ Dave S.

Lets go a little farther and join the canadians at poets cove resort. That way Searam and all the northen boats can come. They have a heated pool, two hot tubs, great showers, restaurant and pub. Its a check in spot for customs and close to fishing whales and 250 shrimp limits, salmon and halibut are open then too. We could do a day trip over to catch the school bus (something we have not done yet ) on the island whos name I just forgot. I thing it would be a great location. I hope they do do shut down blakley island resort. I like the quit there. _________________ Thomas J Elliott

Interesting idea to go a little farther north -- nice area, that, and some may wish to stay on longer to do some more extensive cruising in the Gulf Islands. _________________ El and Bill (former live-aboards)

That would be Montaque Harbor (sic) on Galiano Is.. And when generally is Blakley. I'm remembering the first of July plus or minus. _________________ David and Kate

How about a combination of the two. Deer Harbor for a weekend then the fleet move up to Canada on the Monday AM following. |

It is generally the middle of July - this year it was the 15th through the 17th. In 2006 that translates to the 14th through the 16th. Would we not prefer to go back to Blakely IF it turns out it is available? I am not against Montague or Deer Harbor, but Blakely is a pretty durn nice facility for a CBGT...

Not knocking Blakely, it is indeed a nice place.
But personally....I wouldn't mind a little variety. 'Tis the spice o' life, as they say... _________________ Will, C-Brat Nerd |

Yes, July 14-16 would work well for us.....be it a weekend at Deer Harbor and then fleet cruise on to Canada on the 16th or just head up to the Canadian site Tom mentioned for the weekend 14-16 and then spend extra time in Canada). |
