|
|
Hi - I snapped one of my shore power panel switches under the dinette table yesterday. Anyone know the part number?
I was unable to find it.
Its a switch I always leave "on" but I'd prefer to fix it anyway.
Any advice??
Thanks _________________ True North

There are different panels depending on the vintage of your boat. However, if you mean a panel with a white or black toggle switch, those are just panel mount circuit breakers. There are a variety of types and ratings. The best thing is to take out the one that broke and get the part no. off of it. Odds are that it is a Carling product. Search for "Carling panel mount circuit breakers".
A picture would help. |

I just did this on my 2005 CD25. Assuming the switch isn't the double switch for the AC input, it is a Carling switch:

One word of warning, you have to remove the entire AC panel to do this. On a CD25 this is a bitch because the factory left left almost zero slack in the wires (I assume they started laying wire snug against the panel when the inside of the boat was easily accessible). I had to disconnect nearly all the wires first to get the panel out. Luckily I took lots of iPhone photos and labeled each connection or I would never have gotten it all back together properly. _________________ Sandy McKean

As above for the single switch. The 30 amp main switch is:" Blue Sea 7238 A-Series White Toggle Circuit Breaker Double Pole 30A". You can google to find the best prices.
I had to redo my C Dory 25 panned, when I went with a 110 volt transfer system as part of the inverter/ charger install. I also moved the water heater (makes easier access to the panel.. and along with this lengthened the wires so it was easier to pull the 110 V panned out and work on it. _________________ Bob Austin
