We are now full time live a boards. We have rented our house. Hope they buy it. The installed a/c 9000btu was not big enough for a 25. Had a R/ V style roof mount installed. Works great. We also have our two cats with us. We have made use of every little nook and cranny we can find for storage. It is fine for my wife and I. We do have a wonderful marina that we find is home. They provide us with a dock box shore power and water. ICW MILE MARKER 0. Tidewater Yacht Marine Center. Fuel, showers, restrooms, laundry, a ships store, floating swimming pool. Also a service center if needed. . Very Happy

Neal J,

WOW, what a huge change. Best to you and Enjoy the future.

You might poke around on here and find some posting by Jim of Wildblue, a 25. he and his wife were on a 25 for several years, and had a cat on board, actually 2 I believe, one after the other. They home base out of Corpus Christi and spend most of their retired time traveling. He may pop up here and say "Howdy", especially if he sees the cats are there with you.

Jim wrote a book about their second cat living and cruising with them on the boat. "Cat on a Boat" I believe, and it is available as an E-Book on Amazon I think.

Congratulations on making the "Switch" to a minimalist life! Living aboard has it challenges, I have lived aboard various boats for over 13 years throughout my life.
We had most of a winter in Norfolk VA--where we had 14* and lots of ice on the deck and dock. Hopefully there will be mild winters---or you can take the whole works South!.

C-Dorys are more that just boats --they are becoming a way of life!

Congrats on the lifestyle change! We (my wife and I and a feline family member) lived onboard our 25 for up to 6 months at a time. Usually while cruising, but 3 years for summers in the Port of Friday Harbor Marina. I truly enjoyed the marina life, being able to walk to work, for groceries, out to eat.

But, cruising was our favorite way to be onboard.

Wishing all kinds of good times as you embark on this next chapter. Thumbs Up

Jim

Neal, that's awesome! I'd love to hear more comments and feedback from you in your new adventure. You've got a great boat for it.

Im also trending toward the liveaboard lifestyle and now have the boat to do it BUT I'm not quite ready for the Boston winters! Although there are many "year rounders" up here.

The a/c works fine. Cats food and water bowls under table. Small plastic pan for litter box. We do use an electric skillet to cook in. My wife also uses a Crock pot. The refrigerator is small, do not over stuff. Nothing will get cold. I did mount a small TV in v-berth. Also bought a small Direct TV satellite dish. Have not tried it out yet, need more parts. The boat is comfortable right now. Thumbs Up Cats have adapted well.

Well, since you asked, the e-book version of Cat On A Leash is available on iBooks, Nook, and directly from the distributor: Smash Words...

https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/27714

But, not on Amazon (an intellectual property issue between SmashWords and Amazon).

It is available in paperback from Lulu...

http://www.lulu.com/shop/james-bathurst/cat-on-a-leash/paperback/product-15119033.html

We now return you to our regular programming. Wink

Thanks Jim, and sorry for the miss remembering. I was in a hurry and my paper version is about 1500 miles away right now.

Ordutch, It is a good book, easy and fun. Enjoy.
