We may have some "fender etiquette" quirks here in So Cal...but back in Byrdman country they will board your vessel and bring their fenders with them...and they don't even care what color they are! Rana Azul??? _________________ Chris

So, assessing the damage from Christmas and our Thanksgiving Tucson trip, and the need to pay bills and all, we have pretty much decided we won't be able to make the San Diego gig - this year anyway... |

A few photos added to the San Diego Gathering album taken as the Motley Crew surveyed the bay for the upcoming President's Day event.
The USS Ronald Reagan left just two days ago for it's first deployment so it won't be around.

I am thinking we might be able to make this. Is there still room? Do I need to make any reservations or do anything?
Thanks,
Steve |

Hey, Mike or Bill, the photo album for San Diego is great and already has some pictures from the folks who were in San Diego scouting out the places and events. Now, when you get a moment, we'd appreciate having a sign-up sheet for the actual San Diego Gathering. Thanks. _________________ El and Bill (former live-aboards)

No trouble at all. Are the dates confirmed as February 16-19, 2006? _________________ TyBoo Mike

OK then, the signup list is there, the event has been added to the Calendar, and the thread title has been altered to place it properly on the front page list. El and Bill initiated the discussion thread, so they have been jointly set as the Group Moderator, Camp Director, Babysitter, Facilitator, Concierge, Dictator, President, and General Counsel. However, they are sometimes difficult to catch at home, so maybe someone else wants to take on the honorable role? (It doesn't really involve much, but it's cool to have your name up in lights. Kind of like being the Queen without the money and jewels.) |

Chris, as Fishtales said, is THE co-ordinator. Rana Verde is not only the local in charge, he IS in charge. We merely started the discussion here when we heard rumours of a San Diego Gathering. Goodness, the last thing we want is to be responsible! -- We only want to attend and enjoy the good company.
Thanks, TyBoo Mike, for setting up a sign-up, but please remove us as co-ordinators and put Chris up there in that exalted (and frightening position) -- we are only members coming to have fun. |

Passing along info that Steve came up with...as an alternative to parking your rig at the launch ramp...he has discovered that Ace Parking will allow trucks with boat trailers to park in their long term lot for $12/day. The lot is near the airport which isn't far from the ramp. Ace phone is 619-291-1508. |

I just googled ace parking san diego and got several hits. Looks like "G" is the closest to the Shelter Island Ramp. I called and he said it will be $5 for the truck and $5 for the trailer = $10 per day. He said it was about a 10 minute walk back to the ramp. That will depend on who's walking
The address for the lot is 1403 Scott Street, San Diego (619) 229-2391 |
