I have always greased the prop shaft when changing props in the past, but I ran out of marine grease. There is an auto parts store very close to the marina we are in here in Fulton. So what kind of grease could I get at an auto parts store to grease the prop shaft? Thanks!

My local auto parts carries 'marine and off road' grease in a cartridge. You might have to throw the rest of it away if you don't have a grease gun, but what the ey' it will work in a pinch on your prop shaft

Whatever you can find in a pinch. Red N Tacky will work or just about any lithium base.

My understanding is that the synthetics are more resistant to water washing them away than regular grease.
