Some boat builders are good--or bad--right through their run. Others have good and bad years depending on ownership and management--Chris-Craft being a prime example. Is anyone aware of problems with certain manufacturing years at C-Dory? Or were there any innovations that just failed, or particularly good things now discontinued? I don't know much about the history of the boat. Thanks for any information as I continue to look for a boat.

This subject has been reviewed in the past a few times. I feel for the 22's there was no year worse or better because after the Reynold's takeover the same old crew continued the 22.

Features--the molded interior--I like wood better, but some like the molded.

Barber seat conversion--with the table cut in half and the front seat slides back--you loose some storage, and my wife prefers to sit in the back seat, where the motion is better. But some navigators like to sit in the front seat facing forward as in the 25's and Tom Cats.

The 2006 on have molded in cleats for the fuel tanks, so less chance for core issues from tank hold downs.

In the earlier boats there were teak hand rails--I prefer SS--some prefer Teak.

Cockpit floors--the removable floors about 2005, then 2007 full level floors, some had water trapping.. So I prefer the removable level floor--but the original is OK also.

There can be a "Friday-Monday" issue in any hull or any year--There can be quality control--where someone got sloppy in any year--nothing consistent.

Here is one real close to you. From the original C-Dory builder. 1996 was a good year, but I don't think there were any particularly bad years.

Wow--thanks, Discovery. For some reason this boat does not show up on my "C-dory for sale" section. I have tried to pm--would love to see this boat.

My 2002 CD 22 delaminated and fell apart. The factory replaced the hull in 2008.

Wow, Roger. Did you get a feel for whether that was a model defect or just something peculiar to your hull? Sounds like the company stood behind the boat, at least.
