So I've read most all the threads on subject of anchor locker related leaks and still have these questions:

1. Were drain holes a default install at factory pre-1990?
2. How likely are these leaks to be rainwater, as opposed to saltwater, related? My leaks have all been rain water.
3. Does water that flows out of v-berth foam have a pinkish tinge?

I just went through a complete reseal of every intrusion into cabin. Cleaned out windows and drain holes. We had a downpour yesterday and today I found little bit of water in cabin. Aft cabin bulkhead seam has also been reglassed. Rub rail rivets are all good and no water trails.

1. cannot answer--but my 2006 boat did not have any anchor locker drain--and it appeared as if water could easily get down below the bunk platform, before I put a "floor" and drilled a hole.

2. It could be rain water thru the anchor locker--is there any evidence that water came in during this rain storm. You can try sealing the deck pipe and windlass with duct tape as a temporary "solution" .

3.Yes, a pinkish tinge may come from the foam.

Sorry, let me clarify that I have no windlass and have never used the locker. Unclear how water would get in the locker?

No deck pipe leading to the anchor locker? No bow anchor roller/pulpit with bolts thru the deck? No leaking around the legs of the bow railing? If not--then no other way to get water into the anchor locker.

This brings us the the "Brass strip" Which is along the stem of the boat, and often the holes hare leaking. This would most likely be water from the sea. The "cure" of this is to pull the strip, When the screws are backed out, inspect to be sure that no hole went into the inside thru the thick area of overlap at the stem piece. Then fill these ( work some epoxy into the screw hole, and fill the bottom, if the screw was loose, work a bit more thickened epoxy into the holes. , and put them back in place with good sealant after through cleaning.

Will check again on pulpit bolts. Water has always been fresh not salt. Bow brass leak very unlikely. Thanks.

Just an aside; If you haven't chased a leak in the overhead before, the fact that water ALWAYS runs downhill does not apply on a boat.
