We want to go out somewhere in Central Puget Sound this weekend (probably a Shilshole - Eddie Vine launch) where we can spend the night on the hook and drop our crab pots. Suggestions?

The weather looks like it will be nice this week so I'll probably be out for some Saturday crabbing and some blackmouth fishing - I'll look for you two. As to where to go, there's good anchorage right across the way in port Madison and the crabbing across from that (near Indianola) is pretty good too.

However, for me, I'd rather moor at Bell Harbor, get a nice dinner at Anthony's (or similar), stroll downtown, grad somthing good to eat in the AM at Pike St. market and then go out to toss the crab pots mid morning. But that's not on the hook....

Best,
Roger

there's the dock on blake island at the native museum. nice protected dock and trails to hike all day. There have been a lot of killer whales in the area this week from possession point to vashon so keep a eye out.

How about sharing a bottla good NY wine (Red Cat recommended) on the shores of a Finger Lake, with nice fall color and crab on the menu of the local fish house?? We just shared a great evening with 'Lisbeth, of Sensei a few nights ago.

Have a great weekend!

We are going to be out in the area this weekend as well. Still haven't decided whether to launch at magnuson park and spend the weekend touring lake washington and lake union or launch at eddie vine and go over to kingston and anchor around blake island. Blake island is my favorite in that area. Good anchorage and some great hiking on the island. Kingston has a good italian restaraunt just up from the ferry landing. But Bell Harbor is great too. I love to roam the streets, pikes market, go up to the mall and spend some time in restoration hardware. We will be watching for you if we get out there. Have to see some of the kids first.

Man, you Brats are indefatigable! Nothing keeps you away from the activity you love. You find inspiration even from this week's cloudy, windy, drizzly fall Puget Sound weather.

Oh, by the way, Bambina and I will be spending this weekend on Lake Washington. May float off Husky Stadium and listen to the fans growl appreciation for our Dawgs' upset of USC.

I'll be on 68, and Daydream, I'll second Starcraft Tom's Blake Island suggestion. Lloyds, enjoy your stay up here.

Bambina, that game is going to be a massacre, and I won't go into who the "massacree" is. But who knows, maybe the dawgs can pull an upset like the beavers are prone to do. Dog I will watch for you when I pass through there.

I'll be motoring up to Skamania Island. May spend the night if there is no wind.

Hey Catman, drop a line while you are north of 520 and see if you can pull up a silver or two. The run is probably about over but there could be some good fishing there! Run a hotshot plug about 50' deep. You just might find some!

Thanks, gljjr, I'll keep that in mind while I open a can of tuna fish and rustle me up a sandwich.

How about Quartermaster Harbor at Vashon Island. It's sheltered and quiet with excellent crabbing. You can either anchor out or tie up at the Dockton Park. Many slips and shower facilities too.

Moorage is free at the Gig Harbor City dock for 48 hours. Look for the huge American flag. There are restrooms at the park. The Tides Tavern is a fun place or there are some upscale restaurants around the harbor. Also there is a bakery, a breakfast cafe, cute shops etc. Close to Vashon and Point Defiance for crabbing or fishing.

Catman --
You didn't like our idea of a bottle of Red Cat on the Finger Lakes? Surely we thought you, of all people, would join us.
