SAVE THE DATE EVERYONE...the 2017 CBPYK will take place June 9-11 at Mears Great Oak Landing Marina in Chestertown, Maryland. In following the past five year’s tradition, the Ranger Tug and Cutwater family would like to extend an invitation to all C-Dories that would like to attend. The registration fee to attend is $100/boat or couple if arriving by land, $50 for every additional person and $25 for children 12 and over.
This year’s theme is “The Wild Wild West”. We’ve had so much fun with our previous year’s costumes that we are challenging all participants to “dress up” for Saturday’s dinner with Ranger Tug owners dressing up as Cowboys and Cutwater owners dressing up as Indians. C-dory owners can choose to be one or the other.
To all of our former Ranger Tug, Cutwater and C-Dory owners who are reading this, we are also extending an invitation to attend our rendezvous as “Alumni’s”, because with or without your boat, you are still part of the family.
Tentative events include a Friday evening chili tasting cook-off, possible whiskey tastings, Saturday morning potluck breakfast followed by a few seminars, a “corn-hole” tournament, a jewelry expo, local wine tasting, a catered dinner, a Sunday morning catered breakfast, seminar and awards.
Categories for the awards include best Cowboy/Indian costume for a man and woman, and best Wild West themed boat decorations, plus a few more to be named! To get ideas about costumes and decorations for the knot, look into Etsy, Pinterest, Amazon, etc.
We plan on having free time in the afternoon to enjoy the marina’s amenities such as a swimming pool and hot tub, Poolside lounge, Jellyfish Joel’s beach bar, a 200’ private sandy beach, and a six hole Executive Golf Course. For our younger attendees, the marina offers family oriented activities such as a basketball court, a children’s playground and a kid’s club. You can visit their website at http:// http://mearsgreatoaklanding.com/
For folks not attending by boat, the marina has an on-site 28 room lodge so you can still be part of the festivities and not have to leave the premises.
We are still solidifying our weekend events, so as more information becomes available, I will update this announcement.
Last year we had over 30 boats at our rendezvous, so this year’s goal is to have more than 40 boats in attendance. So grab your ten gallon cowboy hat or feathered headband and come out and enjoy the weekend with fellow Ranger Tugs, Cutwaters and C-Dories.
If you are interested in attending, PM me your email address and I can add you to our roster or send me an email at jtgarcia26@gmail.com. _________________ Just tuggin' along,
