Hey C-Brats -
I have been following this forum as we investigate buying a C-Dory and have been super impressed with this community and knowledge of all things boating!
I know this isn't a C-Dory but I am trying to cast a wide net to find a home for this boat.
I have a 17 foot runabout I would like to find a new owner for. This boat was built by my dad and I want to find a good home for it where it will be well cared for.
History of the boat:
My dad and grandfather bought two hulls from Glen-L (or a builder that used Glen-l plans?) back in the 50s - one for each of them. My dad built his and used it for many years before moving up to a bigger boat at which time he sold it. My grandfather hung his in his nice dry shop and never built the boat. When he died in 1986 my dad decided to built the boat and finished it in 1988. The boat was used for 7 years before my dad passed away. He used it extensively for salmon fishing off the Oregon coast - this boat has crossed the bar at Winchester bay many, many times. Since the time my dad passed in 1995 until now the boat has been used very little as the twin 28 hp Evinrudes have never run well - maybe they have been in mourning all these years...At this point the boat needs to be be repainted and re-powered. I do not believe there is any rot in this boat and I believe the quality of the build work is excellent.
My goal is to find someone that really wants a boat like this and wants to restore and maintain it. Please reply or message me with any interest. The boat is located in Portland Or. I can provide image via email or text as i don't see an easy way to post images here.

I suggest that you join the Wooden boat forum, and post the advertisement there.
This is where you find wooden boat "purists". I go over there for boat porn every once in a while. There are also some classic runabout forums. Unless these boats are finished "bright" with varnished hulls, they would not qualify there. _________________ Bob Austin
